บท 24: Chapter 24: The company
Cuifen on the side walked through the swarm of people and headed to an empty table that lies on the corner.
She makes herself seated there and was relieving all the tension that she had accumulated over there.
The fact that she met the reincarnation of Meifeng was too bizarre for her to accept. It was crazy. How in the world was she able to meet her again?!
With seeing her again, all her painful memories of the past vividly appeared right before her eyes.
She could see the face of her first love Lijun on his wedding day. It was still so clear and real as if it happened only yesterday.
He was looking so handsome and tall, standing at the altar waiting for his bride.
She then recalled the dreadful thing that have happened to her, the man who tried to steal her innocence and those men with the guns?! Who are they?!
What in the world have happened back then?! Why did they attempt to kill her?!
Cuifen was recalling it all over again thinking who she had offended exactly to make them come after her life?!
All her life, she was just hard-working and achieved the highest height with only her capability. Her only love was Lijun. She had loved him all her life and no one else. She stays pure, clean and real throughout her whole life.
As she was musing it all over again, the robotic server came to her and asked in a robotic tone, "SU111, WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO HAVE FOR DRINKS?!"
Cuifen turned to glance at the server.
Since her mind is already heavy she wanted to forget it all for a moment, therefore, she turned to the server and replied in dazed, "The wine for me"
The server immediately took out the red bottle of wine and pour it down onto the glass.
It then carefully put it onto the table and stated in a robotic tone, "YOUR DRINKS IS HERE!"
Cuifen shooked her head at it.
Just as the robot was about to leave the space, she spoke up faintly, "Leave the bottle here"
The server turned to look at her and replied, "VERY WELL. ENJOY!"
With it, it left the bottle of wine on the table and soon left the spot.
Soon after it left, Cuifen drank the whole cup of wine.
The taste of the wine was out of the world. It tasted so heavenly. It seems that the future technology was so advanced that they started to manufacture the tastiest drink of all kinds.
Liking the taste of it, she poured it down again and drank sip after sip, she was enjoying her own company.
In the past, whenever she felt overwhelmed with the world and whole things, she stays alone and drank the wine.
It works like magic every time.
Her own company heals her and gave her peace.
It still works the same. She was now enjoying her own company with the wine.
The best method to relieve some crazy stress she accumulated there.
In her past life, Cuifen was a rising star and she have to keep her private life apart from the public.
There were times where she wasn't able to be her real self. In front of the cameras, she has to act all good and fine. She has to keep up with the smiling face, put on the mask to keep her image.
When everything was done, she would go back home and take off the mask.
She would then open up the wine and take a sip of it. She would often enjoy her own company all by herself. That did some kind of healing to her miraculously.
She survived like that in her past life.
Liking the taste of the heavenly wine, Cuifen pour down another glass of it and drank it.
As the wine kicks in, her dazed eyes stared blankly at those unknown people of the future who were dancing there enjoying their time.
It's as if she is either the ghost or they are the ghost.
Finding it funny, she smirked at it in amusement.
She then finished another glass of wine.
On the other side.....
Meifeng turned to look at Shuzo with her enticing eyes.
Wanting to speak to him, she enunciated in hopefulness, "Shuzo, since you have completed all of the missions in success, I will later ask my father to rank up your position, with that you don't need to go to mini-mission anymore"
With those words, Meifeng was trying to gain favour from him.
Shuzo on the side turned to glance down at the bottle of red wine which was in his hands, he then shared in composure, "Meifeng, no need to trouble yourself with it. I am sure that the superior already knows of it all. When the time comes things will automatically happen"
He then turned to look at her in calmness.
Shuzo was declining her offer as if her words didn't mean anything to him.
He was refusing her.
Not relishing it, Meifeng turned to look at him and shared assuringly, "Ey...! Don't be so stiff! Do you know how many people have completed the mission like you?! They all are waiting in lines to get promoted"
She then enunciated with a pretended smile, "Therefore, Don't you worry. I will speak to my father so that they can speed up the things for you"
This Meifeng was so determined and was being stubborn with her words. Not wanting to fight with her over it, Shuzo just leave the conversation there and take another sip of the wine.
Happy by it, Meifeng asked him in curiosity, "Then...when is senior Roulan and your father getting married?!"
Her eyes were sparkling as she asked him.
Shuzo replied to it in composure, "The day after tomorrow"
There was a sense of peace lingering inside Shuzo's eyes as he declared those words. It appears that he felt at ease to think that his father will no longer be lonely.
Meifeng smiled at it in pleasure and shared in enthusiasm, "That's great news! I will come by to congratulate them!"
Shuzo smiled at Meifeng and nods his head gently.
Meifeng smiled back at him.
She was so happy to be near him, to be able to stay by his side.
Shuzo was the man whom she wanted to keep to herself. She loves his handsome face, his talents, his insight.
In her eyes, Shuzo was the perfect man for her.
