บท 1285: Love is useless

"What did you say?" Yu Tong stood up from her chair and looked at the mer in front of her. Her eyes shook heavily as she questioned the mer, "What do you mean that we are engaged?" 

When did this happen? How come she had no idea about it? 

"Ah? Did Miss Tong's mother not relay the news to her?" The mer brought his hand in front of his lips before he blinked his eyes and then said softly, "Your mother came to my house and she exchanged your childhood pendant with mine. She has agreed to the engagement and the matter of our engagement is already spread all over my village." 

"What? My mother did what?" Yu Tong could not believe it. It was one thing for her mother to cause trouble for her every now and then but now her mother engaged her to a mer without her prior knowledge! How could she do something like that?
