บท 40: IE: Chapter 40. Two-headed Scrad & Charlie.
In a single apartment on the outskirts of New York, a man lazily got up and opened the refrigerator only to find that there was nothing to eat in it.
'Does this mean we can only eat peanut butter tonight? When will these days end?'
Charlie was a wandering alien who came to Earth for refuge at an early age because of the war on his home planet. After working hard for a while, he saved up the money for a ticket and wanted to return to his hometown. After such a long time, should the war be over, right?
But to his surprise, his hometown was still caught up in the turmoil and he quickly came running back to Earth. But he became penniless and didn't know how he could continue living like this.
He came up with a way to sell some information to a known rich person, in exchange for countless wealth. It's just a pity that he didn't get the chance to meet the rich person. He just passed the message on through some people he knew and was still wondering if the person would come looking for him.
Just as he closed the fridge door, Charlie jumped back, startled, "Woah, who are you?! How did you get in here?"
A beautiful woman appeared in front of him and startled him. But it was just an earthling beauty, and he still needed to be careful about his real identity as an alien. 'Is she here to rob me? I don't even have enough to buy some pizza for myself!'
"Why don't you give me your money, and quickly leave!" Charlie took a knife from the nearby rack and threatened the beautiful woman.
"Is that how you greet people here?" Serleena looked at the man in front of her.
Charlie realized that the woman wasn't afraid of the knife in his hand, so he showed her something more frightening. On his shoulder, a head suddenly popped up. But the head was only as big as a fist, and it had the exact same facial features Charlie had.
"Boo! Give me some money, or I'll eat you!" Scrad shouted, trying to scare her.
Whoosh ~~
A few tentacles flew out of Serleena's fingers and entangled Charlie and Scrad's neck.
"Serleena?! Why didn't you say..."
'Queen Serleena?! Why is she the one who came?'
Charlie's voice started trembling, "You... Serleena, right?"
Serleena withdrew her tentacles, and sat in the chair, "I got your message. Where's the Light?"
"The Light of Zartha. Of course, I know where it is. Here's the deal... You've been all over the universe looking for this light thing, and we found it. You want it, it's gonna cost ya... 50 mil! Or maybe you can give me a planet of my own?"
Charlie began to fantasize about being the owner of a planet, he could become its emperor! He wouldn't have to worry about food, shelter, and clothing. He could execute anyone who he didn't like!
Serleena's fingers turned into tentacles and wrapped around Charlie's neck again. The head of the tentacle drilled into Charlie's nose.
Serleena looked at Charlie and sneered, "Where is the Light?"
Serleena didn't entertain even the idea of having a deal with him and just asked a straightforward question.
"Wait, wait. We just need a little money. Please stop, we're not asking for anything else." Scrad, the little head, said, as he saw that Charlie had passed out.
After Selena let him go, Scrad quickly gave Charlie resuscitation, to wake him up.
Serleena then looked at them with satisfaction, "Where is it?"
"We couldn't find the Light. But we tracked it to a guy who might know!" Charlie looked at the two spike-like tentacles in front of him. His heart was pounding.
Scrad hid behind Charlie's head. At that moment, they felt like they were going to die. 'This was all a bad idea.'
"Who?"
"He's from Zartha! And he runs a pizza parlor on Spring Street!"
'A Zarthan?' Serleena immediately stood up, "Let's go. If I find out that you're lying, you know what will happen."

Laurel, an orphan since childhood, was adopted and taken care of by her adoptive father Ben. Now, she works in Ben's Pizzeria and lives a carefree life.
Ben said that when she was very young, her parents died and entrusted her to Ben, but every time she asked him what happened to her parents, Ben would always tell her a fairy tale story about how her mother was a Princess, and her father a great general.
'Come on. How could a Princess be living in America?'
It was getting dark, and the pizzeria was getting ready to close. Laura went to the back door, to get a case of beverages for tomorrow from the basement, while Ben was doing some accounting for the day.
When the doorbell chimed, Ben spoke up without looking up, "Sorry, we are closed, please come back tomorrow."
"Are you Ben?"
"That's me. Charlie, is this your friend?" Ben looked up and saw the double-headed Charlie & Scrad. 'Who is this woman with Charlie? I've never seen her around.'
"Where is the Light of Zartha?" Serleena's tone left no room for doubt. She was sure that this person was a Zarthan.
"The light of what now? Who are you?"
"Charlie, what is this? What are you talking about?" Ben looked tense. 'How did the secret get out?'
Serleena grabbed Ben by the neck and easily picked him up with one hand, "You're Zarthan, how could you not know what the Light of Zartha is? For 25 years, I've traveled the universe looking for it, but it never left Earth, did it, Ben?"
Ben's expression changed, "You're Serleena!"
"I'm running out of time! Where's the Light of Zartha?" Serleena had a smile on her face, but her tone was full of killing intent.
"You're too late. The Light will soon leave the third planet, and be back home. Sorry, you made the trip for nothing ..."
Annoyed, Serleena's eyes turned sharp. She whipped her tentacle-like finger, splitting Ben's body in half. However, instead of turning into a bloody mess, Ben's body fell to the ground like a punctured balloon, and a light ball from inside his body, dispersed.
"We got nothing out of him. Now we don't know if it's on earth or not!"
Scrad emerged and whispered in Charlie's ear, "Now that the Zarthan is dead, will we be killed?"
"Why don't we find the person who helped the Zarthans in the first place? They might know!" Charlie shouted.
He didn't want to die, so it was better if Serleena was busy facing off with the MIB than thinking about how useful he was right now. He didn't care who would be the winner between the two of them.
Serleena thought of the first time she came to Earth, and how the MIB had prevented her from capturing the Princess of Zartha. She was so close, but the MIB hindered her plans, extending her search for the Light for over two decades.
'Well, it seems like it's my chance to take care of old grudges. I'm going to kill them all!'
"It's on Earth, you idiot. I know who's gonna tell me where it is. Let's go."
Laura was coming in through the back door with the drinks when she saw the two leaving through the shop's front door while a pile of skin—that looked like her foster father—was lying on the floor.
"Ben? Ben!!"
Laura touched her adoptive father's 'skin', unsure if it was real or fake. But it certainly frightened her. The sky suddenly rumbled, and it began to rain.
