บท 8: Baby Steps

I set Butter Bot on my computer desk to rest it's processors while I walked towards my book shelf going through the various rows of books to see where exactly my Marionettes put my grimoire.
I skimmed through book spine after book spine until finally at long last I found a spine with three silver hound heads with ruby eyes biting into the book.
After grabbing the book I walked towards my twin sized bed with a puma design with the rain forest back ground, and sat at the very end of my bed and then cracked open my book and began to read the contents of the book.
Shadow Meld

The user becomes becomes one with the darkness temporarily melding with the shadows and becoming a being that exists in shadows.
This ability is strongest at night because the user can hide almost anywhere it also passively hides your presence. Note those who naturally have a barely noticable presence tend to be talented in this particular magic.
Also, be aware this ability can be ignored if you are hiding from someone significantly stronger than you, and god like beings can detect your presence with ease sensing your mana within the darkness. Other beings who are particularly good at sensing the flow of mana in the enviroment and in living beings will be more likely to sense you especially if your unskilled in manipulating mana.
And then it shows a diagram of creating a straight line of mana that connects to a shadow and then it shows the two fusings and intertwining together.
Notes: Don't fret higher tiers of shadow magic allow the user to hide from more powerful beings but there is one being the user may never hide from but this information can not be revealed the user will probably encounter this being when using Dark Magic, even reading his name may put his sights on you especially considering names can contain power.
Dispelling: To dispel this spell the user only has to picture the shadows dispersing, and they will do as the user pictured as long as you properly dispelled the mana.

'This spell sounds so cool, I can just imagine all the things I could do with this. I could easily get passed cameras, and even sneak out when I'm at my uncle's. There's also the fact I could move silently I could pull some really fun pranks.. just like I used to do.. with my friends.'
*Sigh*
As I reminisced about when I used to pull pranks on my friends on April first, and all the amazing pranks I pulled throughout the years. My mood instantly dampened but I distracted myself by getting ready to try to use the spell. I tried activating my ability to see mana, instantaneously I felt something in my mind click and once that happened how I perceived the world changed.
Various small little blue lights floated all around in the air, but when I looked down I could see large orbs of various colors. Some of the orbs were pitch black others were a bright crimson, some were a pure white, and there was very few grey orbs. In total there was at most one hundred orbs.
I first looked at my chest seeing a bright blue orb that with each beat expelled a bright blue liquid that went throughout my body.I then looked at my arms I saw bright blue veins flowing with a moving blue substance that was in a cylindrical position.
I then tried expelling what seemed to be a liquid and tried to connect it with the shadow in the corner of my room. I concentrated on the image I had in my head to have tendrils come out of my finger tips to connect with the shadow. Once I opened my eyes I realized immediately I failed resoundingly but my determination was hampered at all I was determined to succeed.
'I just need to try harder and then I'll succeed... hopefully I can do it.'

A young teen sat on his bed closing his eyes meanwhile his facial expression portrayed a great deal of concentration. For minutes the boy sat their until he opened his eyes and once he did the room was slightly lit up due to the slight glow his eyes had.
With a look of determination in his eyes he tried and tried again focusing for around five minutes at the time for the next hour. On his thirteenth attempt something happened his finger tips slightly glowed blue, but as quickly as the miraculous event happened it disappeared.
The young teen seemed to have a smile as he looked at the hand that just glowed blue it was as if he could see something around his finger tips.
"Yes! I finally did it!"
"Did you see that Butter bot, I'm finally one step closer to my dream."
"It was peculiar sight seeing your finger tips glow master Dipper. Your doing great!"
Butter bot responded with his robotic voice, expressing his joy with his tone of voice, and then gave some words of encouragement, potentially due to Mason not succeeding quite yet.The young teen walked towards the rectangular robot and gave him a hug, caringly embracing him.
"Thanks Butter bot for being here for me, and trying to encourage me."
"It's only natural I would master Dipper, but your welcome."
The young teen embraced the robot for another couple of seconds before setting him down.
The young teen sat back down on his bad afterwards and began to practice manipulating his mana once more. Mean while a trio of mechanical marionettes made their way up the stairs towards the young teens door.....
