Indeed Rot had been waiting patiently in the kitchen to put on her show. Her disgusting, slimy face, filled with red spots, dewlaps and warts could inspire terror even to the bravest of souls. But Signora Bastone didn’t even notice her at first and indifferently started looking in the refrigerator and the cupboards. She wanted to munch something or to be precise to eat something relatively soft and tender because, as you probably can remember, her teeth had remained on the soft lower region of my boogeyman.
Finally she took a bottle of ketchup and started putting some on a yoghurt that she had found in the refrigerator, while Rot with her screams strived to get her attention.
‘Oh my,’ said Granny Henrietta, ‘you must excuse me. I didn’t notice you at first. Do you live here too? I think this building is quite crowded.’
But then, as if she had noticed something, she started examining Rot more carefully.
