บท 1: Demon Child

In the year 203X, technology's rapid advancement had seeped into creating what would be later known as the Platinum Age of video games. This could be seen from the rise of quality mobile games to the manufacture of various console machines, and most notably, the booming market for virtual reality MMO roleplaying adventure games.

It was in this age when the highly popular, incredibly realistic game called FantasyFable was developed. On the day of its release, millions of people flocked to game stores (or not as obviously, online stores) to buy and download the game.

It starred a wide array of choices and classes to pick, such as the standard knight and mage, or even a pirate class, and near unlimited costumes and weapons to find or purchase in the game.

In FantasyFable, there existed an incredibly powerful fallen angel class player who was

nicknamed the "Demon Child" by the game community.

Player Ruby4.

"Get outta my way, you low leveled scrubs!"

The feminine voice was followed by the sound of thunderous footsteps as a swarm of monsters started scurrying away from the entrance of the cave.

"What's happening, brother? Who is making you flee like that?" An olive green ogre the size of a house walked towards a purple skinned ogre who was running with the crowd.

"It's a monster! She's a monster!" The brother screeched in terror.

"But bro, we monsters as well!" The green ogre laughed, unaffected.

"You no understand. She's a hella beast!" Before the green one could retort back, the purple ogre had ran off into the distance.

"Don't run! I won't biiite~" The same high pitched voice could be heard reverberating from the walls of the cave, and it was laced in both equal parts the sweetness of an angel and the sadism of a lioness playing with her prey.

The green ogre gulped audibly as he braced himself and gripped his silver mace with his rugged hands. From the fearful reaction from the crowd of the monsters prior, it seemed the worst had happened- a party of the strongest heroes finally arrived to conquer the Hell's Labyrinth.

There was a sudden explosion that rattled the sides of the cave from the impact. Out from the shadows of the smoke, there was a distinct silhouette of a small person with wings.

"Only one person?" The green ogre thought, shocked. Who would be this arrogant or unintelligent to challenge the great Hell's Labyrinth, alone? Even a party of level 70 adventurers would have a hard time getting past the first floor.

Even more surprising was when the figure finally stepped out of the smoke- to reveal a cute young girl in a red and black dress, whose age cannot possibly be older than a kindergartener's. Her raven black hair was tied up into two spiky buns. She had small black wings on her back and wielded a beautiful dark staff that was much taller than she was. Her large shining red eyes met his own.

"Hey little brat, you lost or something? We have a lost and found counter 'ere in hell, should I take you there?" The green ogre offered, while trying to smile reassuringly to the young girl (while in reality, his smile looked more like he was about to murder someone)

"What is the fastest way to the Devil's chambers?" The young girl asked happily with a grin on her heart shaped face.

"Oh, so this young kid is pretending to be a hero for fun, but I can't let her see the Devil," the ogre thought, and said in what he thought sounds like a sweet voice (that in reality sounded more like a dying whale), "we don't have ice cream in hell, but if you follow me I can treat you to Hell's delicacies like roasted wyverns and horned dragon liver." Even if this ogre was supposed to be evil, he had a soft spot for children, human or not.

"I'm not a kid!" The young girl suddenly kicked the ogre by his shins and the ogre took a ton of damage, which shocked him immensely.

"This strength! You aren't just a simple kid!" The ogre hollered in rage, feeling tricked.

"I never said I am! Now dieeee! Darkness Rage!" The young girl casted a spell in the green ogre and within a few seconds the ogre fell onto his knees in pain, dying.

"Urgh... I should've ran away with them! But now I can die in peace... hopefully my death stalled time for my friends and brother to escape!" The green ogre thought somberly before he lay down...

"Resurrection spell!" The girl chanted, as a shower of sparkles surrounded the ogre.

Suddenly, the green ogre felt he was full of energy and his injuries started to close up miraculously. "What?" He thought.

As the ogre stood up to stare at the girl with the wide grin, a bubbling warm feeling started to emerge in his heart. Is this the kindness of a pure hearted hero? It spurred a change within his soul. Maybe heroes aren't so threatening after all. From this goodwill from a hero, perhaps he should pass on this debt by becoming a good monster at heart.

"Thank you-" The ogre whispered, feeling a bit guilty and embarrassed.

"Darkness Rage!" The girl said in an emotionless voice as a black explosion threw the ogre across the room into the jagged rocky wall.

"What the hell! I thought you wanted to save me!" The ogre shouted while vomiting blood.

"Answer my question, where is the Devil's chambers? Or I'll torture you and revive you over and over and over again," The black haired girl with dark wings made a beaming smile as her face darknened.

"T-this isn't a little girl, nor is she a hero!" The ogre thought as a burst of pain surged through his chest, "This is-"

"A monster!"

—————————

"So the Devil's chambers is right above us. How convenient." The girl hummed.

"How is that the case! You will need to find the staircase at the end of this maze to advance to the next level, AND there are various traps and monsters around the maze. There are 666 levels in total!" The green ogre tiredly sputtered out.

"Shut up, green baldy. 666 levels? How predictable. It would be better if there were 69 floors instead. What would be the fastest way there?" The girl said thoughtfully and she looked as if she were thinking hard for a few minutes.

"I already told you, find the stairs at the end of the maze!" The ogre shouted.

"Shuuut up green bald head, I got it!" The girl twirled her long staff and pointed it at the ceiling.

"Death Ray!!!" A giant pulsating ray shot out up from her staff, pierced the ceiling and impressively broke into the next 665 floors.

"THAT'S YOUR AMAZING PLAN?!" The green ogre yelled incredulously.

As the Ray shot through floor to floor, the ground shook heavily as if there was an earthquake. Startled by the incredible blast, various demons and monsters started rushing about and chattering, trying to figure out the soucrce of the explosion.

As the young girl squatted down, the green ogre paled in both anger and fear.

"We'll sue you for damages! There are loads of lawyers in hell!" He roared.

"Send all the bills to my account, Ruby4. And shouldn't you be more concerned about your king?" She closed her eyes as she said this in a low voice filled with a dangerous glee.

In a fraction of a second, her legs bounced up and her magnificent jet black wings extended to its full length around her body. She let a smirk rest on her face for a moment as she spoke,

"Tonight, the Devil king will fall."
