"They bullied a human?" Hila growled, a flicker of anger sparking within him. Even the idea of peace didn't justify such barbarity.

"Indeed," Mercy said, her voice grim. "And that, Demon King, is where everything went wrong. The human, unafraid due to the peace treaty, spoke out. Their act spread like wildfire, igniting old prejudices on both sides."
