บท 1: Fight with inner demon
In a dark room, a girl lay in bed thinking of what her father had said. In her mind, her inner demon seeks freedom hoping to see a new world, but she still fights with the inner demon as she loves her family too much.
In her family, there are six members, which consists of her father, mother and her three younger brothers. Being the eldest of all siblings, Aria has her own responsibility as a daughter and a sister towards her family. She was thinking of rebelling against her family's decision but kept quiet when she heard her parents had a huge amount of debt and couldn't afford to send her to school. She was pampered in a family but cannot make a decision on her own in the matters of her marriage, as old people are conservative types who want to marry their daughter as fast as she becomes an adult. (adult : it is said that when a girl has their first cycle, they are of age and eligible to get married). She is a woman who has just learned to write and read. She had started to dream about being a scholar and changing the world for women. The dream was about to be crushed by society and their so-called rules. In the early nineties, the world was male-dominated in which each family's head was the eldest male in the family and had the right to take decisions.
Aria was thinking of the conversation in which her father had been very supportive of her studies, as she was already at the age of 18, she had already completed her higher studies and wanted to study further, but destiny had different plans.
Her father said,"My dear, you don't have to worry about your studies as I will make your future husband promise you to study further". Her mother replied "Yes dear, you always have to get married as you have already passed the adult age". Aria said "okay, I will think about it" and turned around to her room.
Aria lay in her bed thinking everything had happened in those few days and kept on having a different mindset about how to say everything to her parents. In her mind, the devilful side says "don't give a hell about others, think about your dream and run away", whereas her soft mind says"NO, parents gave their entire life thinking about their children. How can I think about abandoning them?"
Devilside"Aria, You have to run away from these trouble if you want to be successful "
Softside"No Aria, think about the happiness of living with your parents "
Devilside"Everyone has to sacrifice one thing to be successful. It's okay to go for it "
Softside"No Aria, remember your younger brothers, you can't abandon them. "
Devilside"They will understand you when they get older and mature "
Softside"How will you be facing others finger at them (parents) ? You can't do that to them, they will die. "
Devilside"They will understand when you will be standing on top of your career, and they will be very proud. "
Softside"Are you sure you can do it even after abandoning them?"
Devilside"You aren't abandoning them but just leaving them for a while "
After a while, silence took place all of suddenly. The room was so silent that you could even hear the sound of pins dropping too. Aria was still in the room, thinking that finally she could think about it with a peace of mind. But what she didn't know was that there was a completely different scene between Devilside and Softside.(let's say Ds for Devilside and Ss for Softside)
(Ds "Ss you can't make her emotional and pour the decision in favor of her parents."
Ss "Ds, You cannot keep away from your career right."
Ds "you are always the emotional fool and idiot."
Ss "You are making her decision to abandon them, which will surely make her regret it for a life."
Ds "And here you are making her abandon her dreams which have always been her strength."
Ss "No, maybe she can still work on her dreams after marriage."
Ds "Are you so sure ? "
Ss "cannot be sure, but I can be sure her parents' decision may not be wrong."
Ds "I cannot agree with that."
Ss "It's nothing more like selling her "
Ds "Okay, let's leave her to make a decision")
Aria was thinking about the pros and cons of getting married in this phase of life. Maybe she can get married and still have her dreams come true. Who knows what the destiny plan is for her? After making up her mind, sleep takes over her, and she falls asleep with tears in her eyes. What she didn't know was that after she fell asleep her room door was opened silently and John entered Aria's room with a light step and kept staring at her face. He wiped the remaking tears from her eyes and looked around her room where all her equipment was kept. He knows that Aria is hardworking and a dreamer and her dream ws to complete her studies. But even if he wanted to support her, he couldn't because he didn't want her to suffer hardships with them and his debt became hers. He wanted to have her happiness and secure her future so that she was away from them. He remembered having the conversation with her future husband, and he had promised him that he would have her continue her dreams and pamper her as he had done. He wanted his daughter to have someone with her when all of these things were made public and wanted to have her married while his reputation was still respected, as he knew how the world works. This world hits when you are at your low and the first thing to hit you is your own blood-related as they know too much about you. He wanted to keep her safe, and he knew that if his daughter knew about this she wouldn't leave them. So, he wanted to settle his daughter first.
