(George) "Let's see what you got, <Warfare mode>!!"
I test my new skills as I walk outside the apartment. I test it on all types of my plant except lily pad as I can't find any water around me and potato mine that don't have warfare mode. The result is amazing! Although their speed is not really fast, now I can command them to shoot from different directions and not just from front!
This feeling is similar to controlling a bunch of funnels or bits from the mecha anime I have watched in the past, although I can only control them on the ground. Looks like the time of me bringing a pot everywhere is finally over.
After testing, I can see that some plants have different functions after it is turned to warfare mode. Some plants only can only move linearly such as [flower pot], but most of them are at least able to walk and climb.
Some, like [Cherry Bomb] , are able to jump but can't climb. Another variation is [Wall-nut] that moves by rolling. I also think that [Lily Pad] will probably swim when it moves.
Some special ones like [Chomper], can almost do anything! It can walk, jump, climb, and even burrow underground and then catches enemies from the ground!. If [Chomper before is only average, it is now very overpowered as controlling them is so fun!
This makes me excited whether my plant in the future can do more such as maybe flying or teleporting(for the far future plant series)!
After testing the new mode of the plant, I finally chose to have 3 [Sunflower], 3 [Chomper], 1 [Cabbage-pult], 2 [Peashooter] and 1 [Flower Pot] in warfare mode to immediately plant new plant as I might need to plant [Cherry Bomb] or other when fighting.
I also plant a [Cabbage-pult] for now on top of the [Flower Pot WM(warfare mode)] as the flower pot can also indirectly move the plant except that it can only walk and is unable to climb or other movement.
Few seconds later, We arrived at the minimart. From the look of it when seen from the outside, it is still not yet ransacked albeit there is a bit of mess inside.
(George) "Alright! We finally arrived at the minimart. Let's collect everything that we need and come back to the cashier in the front after we finish. If you want me to store your stuff first, you can tell me."
(Xiao Mei) "Okay!"
I don't really know what product is necessary for a female in this changing world or apocalyptic world that's why I left her to do her own thing. I then go to the meat and fish section as I take all of them inside my inventory.
(George) 'Okay! I will take them all! Ahem....This is not stealing as there is no cashier in the front so there is no owner okay!'
I also take all the food and condiments from instant noodles, canned food, fresh food, sauce and etc directly to my inventory as it is the most important of all. I don't bother to take some of the household tools that can become a potential weapons such as a fire axe, mop and etc, but I take some kitchen tools for me to probably cook in the middle of nowhere and plates.
I also bring some products such as cold packs, bleach, acid or etc. No! It is not because I need it for cleaning or for when I am cold, but for making weapons! Some household products such as the above mentioned contain compounds such as ammonium nitrate or potassium nitrate that is the basic component for explosives.
Many might not notice it but when the announcement was first made, it is said that an entity can only make a weapon of the same tier as himself. Many settings such as this usually means that modern weapons such as firearms, explosive, artillery and combat vehicles probably are not capable of killing the dimensional being.
Hey! Even the most feared thermonuclear bomb or intercontinental ballistic missile is probably only able to knock all the dimensional beings in the area but unable to kill them just like my makeshift spear..bat.
However, I assume that all this fearsome weapon that is the culmination of our current technological civilisation is not weak! It is just limited by the current power system! What do you think will happen if all of this is recreated in the hands of a higher tier being? Then the answer might be clear.
Even if a genius Tier 0 creates an assault rifle which might be a Tier 2 weapon, due to him being Tier 0, the weapon is classified as Tier 0. This creates an illusion in this changing world that only cold weapons and magic will prevail in this new era even though it is not true.
This change in era might be a reset to our civilisation system, but it doesn't mean we can just forget our past experience in our civilisation and change our civilisation from technological to magical civilisation or might be martial arts civilisation.
Well, even though I talk big, I am probably only able to build a simple modern weapon like a revolver as for the rest? Not much information can be found on the internet. It may seem weird for a person who loves plants to also be a weapon geek but hey when watching those sci-fi movies or gun shooting anime, what males will not be excited?
It is not like firearms don't have any connection with plants. For those who don't know, black powder or the ancient gunpowder is made of 75% of carbon which can be obtained from either pure coal ore or charcoal after some process.
However it has been changed to modern version as this ancient form only capable of single shot firearms due to it produces a lot of byproduct such as ash and too much smoke, making the barrel of a gun need to be cleaned regularly and the smoke it produced cause a jammed in rapid fire gun.
Modern gunpowder or also called the smokeless gunpowder itself also contains plants! Although the specific is a bit hard to explain, the smokeless gunpowder is made of a mixture of nitroglycerin made from nitric acid and glycerol from animals fat, and cellulose which creates a nitrocellulose. This cellulose is usually obtain from the cotton plant which contains much more cellulose than the leaf of other plants.
Of course, this is only a basic version as the one used in the military also contains many other compounds to make the explosive much more potent, reduced smoked, lighter, etc which will not be available to the public of course!
Back to the thing I obtained along with the chemistry equipment that I will get in school later, I will test whether this hypothesis of mine is true. I will also probably test my own plant especially [Cherry Bomb] as I want to know how in the world it can explode!!!
I plan to try extracting its explosive content (if I found it) and create a gunpowder or explosive based on this. If I succeed, I can basically have an infinite bullet and explosive in the apocalypse as I can grow as many [Cherry Bomb] as I want! But that is a plan for the future….
Other than testing my hypothesis, studying about my plant along with analysing whether I can create my own plant is necessary as a gardener… Well, it might not be necessary for an ordinary one. However if I want to survive and become stronger, I need to go to the sciences lab in my school and take all the equipment inside, not like anyone will care right?
After putting all the interesting stuff I take to my inventory, I go to the medicine section as I take all the things here too. Although my new physique after evolving to TIer 1 will suffer from an illness, I might need it for other unevolved humans or just for experiment later.
Finishing up, I go to the front cashier as I wait for Xiao Mei to come back. She finally came to the cashier after a few minutes of me waiting.
(George) 'It seems even with my long search, she still takes a longer time to get her stuff huh??'
(George) "You finish?"
(Xiao Mei) "Yes, here just put all of it to your cheat inventory!" said her as she showed a basket full of stuff to me.
(George) "All of it? Well sure. Oh right, If you want, I can return you back to the apartment first before I go to my school to take some stuff."
(Xiao Mei) "Nah… I will just follow you as I am also curious what your school looks like."
(George) "Sure. Although it might be different from the past as zombies and monsters might litter around the school now."
(Xiao Mei) "RIght haha"
We just want to get outside before we can see a group of 5 green monsters the size of a child holding a knife is in the front of this mart.
Looking at the most common mobs in any fantasy genre, we can't help but scream its name inside our mind
(George+Xiao Mei) 'A GOBLIN!!??'
