บท 55: Chapter 55 - Soul cultivation

The white light enveloped their bodies, and they started getting smaller and floating together with the light into the man's body. As they reached him, they went inside of him and disappeared from the world completely.

The man kept on walking and reached a hill, on top of which a man that looked like a normal; human waited. The only difference was that this human had red eyes, and he had a very savage symbol on his left cheek. It was the symbol of the heart that was beating with every breath.

With this, the human closed his eyes and stepped forward. He started falling from the hill that was at least 100 metres high.

Kyle opened his eyes at this moment.

'Is the book telling me that I will have the same power if I learn this Spirit Cultivation Technique?' Kyle was excited, but his problem right now was time. He was only left with one last day.

'I have 24 hours to reach the bare minimum to leave this area, let me focus on the task at hand before celebrating.'

Kyle could feel the power of dominion technique coming from the man in the vision. He also had some distant familiarity that Kyle couldn't really put his hand on.

But also, the skill that he used to kill all the warriors, as well as the demons, wasn't a Lighting Step or the Wave of Conviction. Kyle wasn't sure what exactly it was, but if the book showed him that vision, this meant that it was a type of guidance for Kyle to ponder on.

Kyle focused on his power and tried executing something similar to the white hue that spread from the expert. What resulted was some qi that spread from him and disappeared into thin air.

'I guess I can't do the same thing without learning the manual. It would be too easy otherwise.' Kyle went back to the white space inside the pearl and touched the book.

Suddenly a notification appeared.

[ Would you like to start learning the soul force technique? ]

Kyle as always pressed yes. But straight after another notification appeared.

[ Are you certain? ]

At first, Kyle was surprised as it seemed that some high amount of danger would come with this soul technique. But after thinking about, Kyle actually had no choice. The rabbit from before said that he would be faced with death if he didn't exit in a year and he only had a single day left. It was either trying to survive by learning the technique or dying for certain.

Kyle pressed yes again, and Kyle saw himself in the completely dark room with nothing really around him that he could see, suddenly he saw someone's hands and later saw a woman that was wearing some tunic. She held him and wiped off some viscous liquid from him. As this happened, he couldn't really move or say anything. Straight after he saw a woman that was lying down and was bleeding and a man that looked at him with eyes full of love.

This was the moment when Kyle looked down at himself and realised that he was now a baby. He was small and powerless. He wasn't able to say or do anything he could only allow to be hugged, put up into the air and talked to.

Suddenly the father took him into his arm and quietly said, "Welcome Desmond to the world. I promise that I will be a good father and you will grow up to be a great sect chief."

With these words, Kyle knew that he got himself into a very peculiar situation.

'This is for certain some type of test. I hope that I can complete it fast enough. I only had one day left before I started!' Kyle didn't know what he had to do, but he was certain the double notification wasn't there for nothing.

He also wanted to reply to his father, but instead spit on to his face. 'Gad damnit. How can I be so useless.' Kyle was not sure what to do right now as any movement was impossible to do. His body didn't want to listen to him.

After everything has settled, he was finally left together with the new so-called mom in the same room. Kyle only now was able to see that this place where they were, was incredibly rich. Gold and other incrustations could be seen everywhere. Different paintings and other treasures were on the walls. Some of the paintings were the fabled treasure paintings that would enable one to get an incredible boost to qi consumption when studying it.

Kyle knew that commoners wouldn't be able to afford any of this. On top of that, qi was only a concept that he knew, sects practised. This meant that he now was in the sect of cultivators.

Kyle understood that this would be a long way ahead of him coming out of this world. 'I only hope that I am not dead after I am out of this illusion.'

Kyle slowly but steadily started to grow up in the family. He later learned that his father was named Desmond as well and his mother was name Lanya. His father was the sect chief. He was the eldest son of the previous chief, and incidentally was the strongest person in the whole village.

Years passed by, and Kyle was starting to forget who he really was. He couldn't differentiate what memories were his and what memories were of Desmond's body and mind.

He even started forgetting for what reason and how he appeared in this world.

Years passed, and Kyle slowly started cultivating. The only thing that always stayed by his side was the Dominion technique that Kyle could access at any time. That is why he could start cultivating the first layer on the first day of his birth. At the age of 5, everyone in the sect would have to do an aptitude test. It was the grand event when all of the chiefs and elders would be present. This also was the day when the number of resources allocated would be distributed.
