บท 21: Chapter 21 - Ogre and Spider queen
As Kyle ran inside the forest, the negative mood and energies enveloped him. His field of view became much less now, and he could see at most 500 metres in front of him. Plus the cobwebs and the thick trees blocked most of his view anyways.
The ogre was roaring angrier and angrier and completely ignoring the camp through which he passed. He chased the annoying human that caused it a scar on foot.
Kyle couldn't turn much to see how exactly the ogre looked, but from the side vision, he could tell that he had a single eye and 2 legs. His skin was deep orange in cover with stains of dirt and grass all over him. He was completely naked with a heavy hairy body in some of the areas to insulate from the cold weather. This parts of the continent could get quite cold in the winter.
Kyle rushed further and suddenly in front of him, and he saw a cave, the entrance of which was as big as a 200-metre mountain. It was huge, and everything but a small part was in the cobwebs. Without further thinking, Kyle decided to rush inside.
While this might be a great idea, in reality, even before Kyle could get deep in, something white and wet shot through the small gap, straight at Kyle. That thing fully enveloped him and started to expand and fully tie his movements. The white thing was slowly building up and was looking more and more like a cocoon that Kyle was inside. 'Oh, no, shi*! I didn't want to fight the spider queen! I only wanted to put them against each other.'
Kyle was being enveloped while the ogre was rushing towards that direction. When Ogre got to the cave, it didn't know what to do and started looking around.
It could smell the human, but couldn't see or feel him. It looked everywhere, with a confused gaze. Suddenly a spider half the size of ogre walked on her eight legs from the cave. It looked at the ogre and said something. Kyle, was in a cocoon and being dragged towards the inner parts of the cave by a small Spider. To Kyle, it sounded like nails scratching the glass.
As ogre didn't get the human and was already here, he charged at the spider. He got hurt by the human, and he was being told to go away? The spider queen as if anticipating that reaction dodged and started shouting the same white wet blobs off the web that Kyle got enveloped with. Ogre couldn't care less for it and kept on attacking the spider queen.
Then, as one more sound from spider sounded out, countless spiders started going out of the cave and rushing towards the ogre. To say that there were many is to say nothing. It was as if a tidal wave of uneasy ocean broke through. All of the spiders, with no regards for their lives, went towards the ogre. Even though it was trying to kill everything that was approaching, the sheer amount of spiders were too many to deal with.
Ogre knew that if this continued, he would be downed. He had to deal with the main target. The queen. He went for the ultimate play that this bruit could think of; he ignored the spiders and jumped at the queen. With a jump, it went straight at the queen. He was flying at unbelievable speed with the club aiming straight towards her head.
The queen couldn't dodge as fast, so she tried to take the hit but as well retaliate with landing a fatal blow onto the ogre. She prepared the poison as well as opened up her fangs and jumped towards ogres heart.
They colluded in the middle, and even though spider queen managed to bit with poison at the ogre, his body was too heavy, and so as if it didn't notice the spider, it kept on falling down. The falling impact together with rocks flying splashed the spider queen, even ogre overestimated his power and broke the club completely. Now with spider queen dead, all of the spiders in terror started running in each and every direction. No-one was controlling them any more.
Ogre looked at the battlefield with happiness and in fluid motion tossed the spider queen's body to the side. As it roared its winning cry, it felt that something was not right; his body was hurting with every muscle and tender shaking. Something was spreading about his body. Then suddenly its lungs were not able to hold any more air in, and it dropped to the ground, dying of suffocation. In where his heart was, there was a purple fang stuck with green liquid splashed all around the wound.

While all of this was happening, Kyle was first being dragged to the inner parts of the cave in the cocoon that he couldn't break out from. Suddenly after the call of the spider queen, the small spider that was dragging Kyle dropped him on the ground and went somewhere, Kyle was just left lying on the ground.
'I am barely able to breathe, and I can feel that this cocoon is not fully formed yet. I have the last chance of breaking out, or I will just die.' Kyle couldn't move his hands. He tried willing the system to take out an item, but there was not enough space, so the biggest item he could take out was the needle that he made from the beasts remains.
'There is gotta be something that I can do!' Kyle started thinking of anything he bought, but the main problem is that all of it required some hand movement from him. Not something that he can do right now.
The grip of the cocoon was getting stronger and stronger, slowly squishing his head and internal organs. Then suddenly, at the last moment that Kyle could preserver.
[ Increased Luck trait is used ]
He suddenly felt that something massive and sharp hit his cocoon from outside, and suddenly the forming force has stopped. Also, there now was a tear that let the air in and that let Kyle try to breakthrough. He was doing everything he could, but even though he got this chance, he didn't have enough physical power to force his way out.
Kyle couldn't do anything, and suddenly he remembered something in the book, there was a way for him to take out the power of qi and use it to explode with strength. Even though it said that only qi condensation cultivators should be able to do this, Kyle had to try.
Kyle put all of his consciousness into the dantian, trying to force some of the qi that was in the lake outside of the dantian. It was not working, as soon as qi left the dantian, it would go to strengthen his bone and muscles and refused to do anything else.
Kyle didn't give up and kept on struggling, driving all of the qi out of the lake. When nearly half of the qi was used up, one small speak of azure qi left his body. It left where Kyle's left hand was. With the power of qi Kyle could feel that he can do anything and with no effort at all he ripped the cocoon in half.

บท 22: Chapter 22 Spider’s liar
'I am finally out!' Cried out Kyle, who had to straight away check where he was and what he had to do next. The cocoon was made out of some unbelievable strong, silky cobweb. He collected it into his storage space just in case he has a use for it later. There was no artificial light in the cave only some green rocks that barely gave any light out.
Kyle could see that the sharp object that hit his cocoon was a green rock that dropped from the cave ceiling. In fact, many of them dropped as the whole cave was shaking from time to time, 'Must be the goddamn ogre that is wreaking havoc. I hope that they kill each other there.'
Kyle wasn't certain what way was the exit, and so he chose one of the random paths that were leading to the left.
Kyle took out one of the wooden blocks that he bought to make a campfire. The blocks, in fact very easily lighted up and allowed Kyle to place them onto one of the swords that he bought and used it as a torch.
As Kyle kept on moving, it suddenly started to get brighter in the distance, that meant that Kyle was moving in the right direction. There were no spiders which really surprised Kyle, considering that he was in their home.
But once he reached the outside, it all started to make sense. Kyle didn't want to get sucked in the cocoon again, so he had the wolf fang knife in his hand clutched. Even if he gets put inside, he will easily be able to force his way through.
There, on the entrance to the cave, 2 massive figures were lying, motionless. The spider queen was lying next to the ogre, and ogre's hand crashed the spider figure even more. This was as if 2 buildings have collapsed on top of each other. It was an unbelievable sight.
'Wow! This result is something that I didn't even dream of! They both killed each other? This is the lucky opportunity that I needed!'
Kyle making sure that no-one was around, rushed straight at the two bodies.
Once he got close, suddenly 2 notification rang in his mind.
[ Congratulations. You have killed an enemy 3 levels higher than you. ]
[ Achievement has been achieved. ]
[ Would you like to get the rewards now? ]
Kyle chose [ No ]. He was still not in the same place to relax, and anything around him could have potentially killed him. If he wanted to sort through things, he had to find a better place.
The main point why Kyle came back to the battleground so fast, was because of this system question right in front of him.
[ Do you want to absorb? ]
[ Yes / No ]
There were 2 questions, with absorb word having a skull next to them.
[ Yes!]
Kyle pressed on the UI two times and the bodies started disappearing. The energy from them was not grey in colour like before but had a special glow to them. The Spyder's energy was purple in colour and gave the same feeling as this forest.
The ogre's energy was orange, the same colour as the fallen leaves in the forest that he explored before. Those two energies started first slow and then started accelerating towards Kyle dantian. The pearl as it sensed all of that energy coming to it, started rotating and absorbing anything that it could.
The pearl couldn't, no matter how it tried to swallow down all of the energy but was still exerting the swallowing force on everything around. The leftover energy was now swirling around Kyle, trying to force its way into his body. As the energy went frantic, it created a whirlpool around his body. It started spinning faster and faster, creating unbelievable wind around the area.
"Arghaaaaaaaaa" Kyle started screaming, as his body felt like it was being torn apart by an unseen force.
The bodies were only around 10% absorbed when a notification rang out in Kyle's mind.
[ Congratulations! You Reached Level 1! ]
[ Purifying EXP into QI ]
As this rang out, the pearl started sucking even more energy that was coming in, and from the other side of the pearl, an azure pure colour qi started gushing out straight to where his qi lake was.
This has already lasted for at least 5 minutes, and Kyle was on his last breath before losing consciousness. This was truly a torture for Kyle as he couldn't believe that powering up could be so painful.
His qi lake was getting filled, and at one point it started rotating as if the whirlpool that was above his head, transferred into his dantian as well, the qi started pulsating, and the azure colour was become translucent and then going back to azure. This whole process gave Kyle a very soft and sweet feeling, something that started to negate the feeling that the absorption gave him. Then at a sudden moment, his QI broke the beds of the lake that were holding it in space and rolled around the whole dantian. Strengthening and making its own storage for qi. As that happened, even more qi started gushing out of the pearl, slowly building up this lake.
Again, as expected, the notification rang out.
[ Congratulations. You reached Qi Refinement stage ]
Why Kyle didn't expect is next:
[ As you reached both level 1 and Qi Refinement a manual will be provided of the system ]
There was a thud sound and inside his storage space, now was a large blue book that said "The Game" on it.
Kyle didn't have the power to check it yet, as he needed only to focus on the absorption.
After both of the bodies became energy, the whirlpool that was around, Kyle now looked like a hurricane that was pulling out the trees and even making the cave to crack. Everything in the surrounding was basically ruined, and the earth looked like a crater where a meteor just fell. The nucleus of it was Kyle.
After he broke through in both level and cultivation, the whole process became much easier on his body and soul, which lead to him having a faster absorption rate. The harvest was large this time. He sped up through the levels without having to fight those 2 beats. 'I would off never been able to get this energy if not through luck. This is truly a great moment!' Kyle smelled and kept on absorbing.
At the last moment when the last energy has entered his body, he heard the system again:
[ Congratulation! You reacher 75% of Qi Condensation ]
With this finished and all of the energy collected, the qi that was once a lake that was limited in its edges now was like an uncontrollable ocean that was swirling and moving constantly, it has covered now around 75% of his dantian and was giving away cracking azure lighting. The qi gave the feeling of primordial power.
Now as the last drop of energy was absorbed and bodies fully disappeared, countless items started appearing on the floor, there were teeth, bones, eyes and anything that you could imagine, even the necklace that the ogre was wearing was lying in that pile. But as Kyle knew, he would only get what system decided to give him.
