As soon as my parents leave the club, Mariano steals me away without being noticed and drags me to the second floor of the exclusive area. My heart pounds in my chest, but a smile lingers on my lips as I whisper-yell, "What are we doing? Why are we hiding?"
He smirks at me over his shoulder but doesn't say anything. Then he opens the first door, ushers me inside, and then locks it behind him. I can't see a thing. The room is dark, but I don't need the lights to know the layout of the room. Even without touching anything, I can sense the velvety materials and smell the leather and hardwood that make up the furniture of this room.
"You can't just show this to me and expect I won't want to try it out," he drawls in a voice so dark and smooth, he belongs in the room.
I chuckle. "Oh, really?"
