บท 98: Chapter 40 - Gabriella (1)

Holy shit. Can someone die from having a heartbeat that's going a thousand miles a minute? I'm pretty sure Mariano did that on purpose to elicit the tachycardia. I clutch my chest, afraid that it would spill out of me.

I've been avoiding him since we came home from the club last week. That night was crazy. If I didn't know any better, I'd think he was jealous of David. Couple that with what happened in his office, I'm seeing a different side of Mariano that I haven't seen before.

I had been lucky that he hadn't brought it up this week, considering we live in the same house and had shared meals. We have practically ignored what happened—or at least I tried to ignore it and hoped every day he wouldn't bring it up.

Part of me was thankful that maybe he has forgotten about that already. I'm sure he dated around before me, so whatever happened in the club shouldn't be special for him to talk about it.
