Mariano left at nine in the morning. I'm not sure where he goes on Sundays. It didn't seem like he was going to work because he wasn't wearing a suit—the only time he wears one is if it's work-related. I also didn't know he was leaving until I heard his car from my window. And I peek just in time to see him pass through the gates.
While he's out, I take out my pad and sketch. I don't usually draw portraits or people. I think it's very tedious. That's why most of my paintings are modern impressionism. I love colors and the vivid mash-up of them on a canvas looks vibrant. If I do try to paint faces of people, it wouldn't be a full one—usually a side profile in pencil and then watercolor around the head.
