"The Kaisers. Germans." Jax's voice snaps me out of my trance and I clear my throat, trying not to think about Mariano practically hugging me from behind like it's not a big fudgin' deal. Jax shamelessly nods to a group of men several feet from our table. There are four of them—all in their fifties or sixties. "That's my father right there in a fucking tweed suit. Richard Kaiser."

I study the man in question. Jax's father looks like Pierce Brosnan with facial hair. I can see the resemblance between the father and son. Jax continues to talk about their businesses that mostly involve real estate and development. Mariano then tells me that the Morellis, being in the construction business, work with the Kaisers more often.
