Today is supposed to be my brother's wedding, so Yan "proposing" to me is a little selfish, a little scandalous—if he did a grand gesture, which thankfully he didn't because I would never want to upstage the newly wedded couple's important night—but…I love it. We're out here by ourselves with only the tree as our witness. It wouldn't tattle on us, right?
And I love that Yan was also conscious of his actions, not wanting attention by pulling me aside, away from eavesdroppers. I love that today wouldn't only remind me of my brother's wedding, but also of the day Yan asked me to remain as his wife. June 1st, a day of love, commitment, and strength.
So as he holds me in his arms, he slowly sways us from side to side, the music from the party still audible from where we stand. I take a peek at the new ring on my finger and smile. It's so pretty, sitting next to the diamond ring that was originally from our wedding in Chicago.
Hi... I know you've been waiting for a long time for the new releases. But life's just been hectic for me recently. If you're in my newsletter, I'm announcing it there later. if not, join here: >>tinyurl.com/nixsignup
