บท 35: Chapter 35

"We should start making a wall around the resort grounds," Paul said, holding Claire on his lap while sipping coffee and chatting with the group. "We need a map of this place. Maybe some tourist guide has one, or maybe there's a map somewhere here."

"We had one in administration," Elena says to the group. "But there's no need for one to know about this place, I know it. This place has a few areas covered, but to protect it on every side, we would need to work a lot."

"And by a lot, I mean it," Elena continues. "The long front building of the resort that's beside the highway, where the gate entrance is, which Paul covered with cars leading to the inner road of the resort grounds and into the reception lobby, needs to be blocked all over its front wall of the various stores."

"Then, there's the multi-story car park beside it that needs to be blocked all along its front to avoid walkers or people trespassing into the resort grounds."

"Doing all that work, we would only be covering one side of the resort ground. After that, the group would only need to guard the front gates from that side."

"Starting from the multi-story car park end all the way to the beach, there's a wall dividing the resort grounds with a little neighborhood, but it would need to be expanded to make it taller and more dangerous to avoid trespassers. That would be all from that place."

"From the other extreme of the resort grounds, there's a street that connects with the internal road of the resort from the highway to the hotel lobby. On that side, there's an iron gate that should somewhat fend off a mob of walkers but not enough against people. Besides, the brick wall covering from the gates all the way to the beach on that side is not tall enough. The other section that goes to the highway is okay."

"And lastly, the last side would be the one facing the beach. There's just a low-height fence that anyone can trespass by just raising their legs. We would need to make a wall all over that side."

"It's a lot of work," Oscar says with worry.

"Yes, it is," Strand says thoughtfully.

"We still need to clean what's left of the walkers, but we should start thinking of prioritizing securing the compound. Even if it looks like a big endeavor," Paul says, looking at them.

"Agreed. With the survivors in the city and the possible gangs still being active in some sort of way from before the outbreak, we should try to secure this place," Elena said, supporting what Paul was saying. "We will see them knocking on our doors if they are still out there and get to know about us, either asking for what little resources we have or directly for the place."

"We can't do all this work and leave it for some assholes to come and take it from us," Madison said, standing behind her son and resting a hand on his shoulders while looking at the rest. "We will need to look for a place to loot for all these construction resources we would use."

"Yes, we have been working without stopping since we arrived here, doing all this hard and tiresome work for that to happen," Andrea said, sitting beside Paul with Amy.

"Well, it's not gonna happen. If someone comes to try it, we will dispose of him in a hard way," Paul said to them all. "We need to start constructing the wall today with everyone's efforts, and then we need to look for more guns."

"After that, we can start considering other things in this place," Paul continued, resting a hand between his sister's legs.

"Let's do it like that then," Oscar said after hearing them. "What should we use to make the wall?"

"As my mother said, for now, we need to have a possible target location to look for what we need. A big store that sold construction materials before the outbreak. We would need to grab a few big semi-trucks to carry over the things. I can fill them quickly with the material we need, but someone needs to drive them. Not everyone would know how to move those things, but it doesn't matter if you crash against a few things nowadays while bringing them here on the way," Paul says with a smile, playing with his sister.

"I will grab the map from administration and mark a place on it where there was a big Ferreteria (Hardware & Building Materials store) where we will find the things needed for building the wall, such as roof/wall metal sheets," Elena says, looking at Paul and Claire being lovey-dovey and then at everyone.

"Alright, you do that. I will go downstairs and block all the sides beside the highway with cars. We wouldn't need to do anything extra on that place after there's a big pile of cars blocking the way. For the rest, we would need to work hard," Paul says, standing along with his sister.

After deciding the things to do, the group dispersed. Paul, after seeing them leave the room, turned and kissed Claire, Alicia, Madison, Amy, and Andrea for a while, playing as he pleased with their breast and buttocks before he left the room armed with them to go downstairs, intending to block the highway side.

Not long after, they were standing on the sidewalk next to the entrance with the pile of cars blocking the highway entrance gates.

"It's a nice morning to work a little," Paul says with a wry smile, looking at the cars all over the highway.

"You can do it, my love," Madison encourages him with a kiss.

"Yes, brother. Easy cake for you, you are strong," Claire cheers.

"Our man is the strongest in the world," Andrea smugly says. "Isn't he, Amy?"

"Yes, Paul, you can do it!" Amy says with a shy smile.

"Go, brother! Show your strength to everyone," Alicia also cheers him, massaging his balls and cock over his pants. "Then we will reward you at night."

"That is enough to give my all in record time, girls," Paul says, getting hard. "Alright, let's do it."

Giving a hard spank to Alicia's ass, he separates from them and moves to pile the cars one on top of the others in at least a 2x2 area first, making a solid block blocking each storefront that could fend off a big horde, he believed. Then, when the time came for the multi-story car park side that faced the highway, he started piling a few truckload freights in there first to make a wall, destroying their wheels, steering wheel, and engines to make them impossible to move. Then he piled more cars in there.

He left another four semi-trucks that were along the highway untouched, intending to use them, but he also wanted to make the wall of things taller later if possible.

After doing it all in less than an hour, Paul saved the group a lot of work and time. He was amazed at the feat of strength a werewolf could accomplish, being able to lift so many tons so easily or push and pull them, as seen in how easily he moved these semi-trucks like toys. Surely he was stronger than an evolved werewolf, such as the hybrids, because his strength was amplified by his natural-born original vampire side, even if it was untriggered.

"This is something out of a superhero comic, as is everything you have shown during this time. It was an amazing thing to witness—to see someone do that, Paul," Claire says, throwing herself at his chest when he finishes, with stars in her eyes.

Paul smiles and grabs her round ass, giving it a squeeze. "Now you know, your man is strong. There is no second like me."

"Yes, you are, son," Madison says, smiling at his smug face, then she gives him a soft kiss.

"Brother, you need to make us the same as you. We want to do things like that too! It was amazing," Alicia says from beside him, urging and coaxing him with caresses over his cock.

"We will find a way to make you all the same as me, if possible. But we won't do it the way I did with Jake and Alex," Paul nods and assures them.

"That would be incredible if possible," Amy says, embracing him from his back.

"Yes, I could already imagine myself like Wonder Woman," Andrea says, kissing him too like the rest.

"I know, I too want to make you like this if possible," Paul smiles enjoying their playful caresses as they coaxed him.

Then, as they were about to go inside, Elena appeared along with others at the entrance and they were amazed at seeing the destroyed vehicles forming a wall.

"Incredible, Paul," Oscar says, astonished, not sure about how he did this.

The group of people from the wedding group that came with them to help were also amazed and terrified, but more were feeling secure next to someone who could do these extraordinary things.

"Our man is strong," Andrea smugly boasts to them.

"I can see it..." Elena says, biting her lips and thinking things in her mind.

Paul could see it, and a smile formed on his lips, but he didn't intend to take Elena as his woman. He was picky choosing them.

"Do you have the map and the location where we need to go?" Paul asks, diverting them from the shocking landscape.

"Yes, this is the place we need to go," Elena says, giving him a map.

Paul took it and saw that it wasn't so far from here, a 10 or 20-minute drive.

"Cool, it's pretty close. Let's go," Paul says, looking at them. "There are a few of us that need to be left here to take care of this place armed."

Paul looked at Strand, Andres, Oscar, Daniel, Hector, Chris, Liza, and Ofelia, who also had guns beside them. Elena too was armed but she would come with them to the store.

"You eight stay to protect the place. I will go with my girls, Elena, and four of your friends, Oscar," Paul says to them.

"I will go with you to help. Someone can cover my place," Oscar says, insisting on contributing. He was determined to tie his group to Paul after they saw the incredible things he could do.

"Alright, it's fine. Let's go," Paul says to him, as they move to board a few cars. Elena was with him as a copilot in the front of a van and his women in the back.

"Have a safe trip," Strand says from beside the pilot window.

"We will be back soon, you won't notice," Paul smiles, then he turns the A/C on as it is a hot day, and drives into the highway. Oscar and three guys were driving the four semi-trucks, following them after they entered the highway.

As they were driving along Mexico 1-D, about to enter a side road beside a gas station to refill the semi-trucks, Paul saw in the rearview mirror that they were being boarded by a car and a pickup with guys in its cargo bed, speeding faster than them.

"Shit," Paul says, looking at them through the mirror. "Prepare the guns!"

"What?" Elena says in fright.

"We are being boarded. Prepare the guns," Paul yells to the girls in the back. "Pass me a gun."

Not long after he got the AK in his hand, already ready to shoot, the car positioned itself in front of them as the guys from the pickup started shooting at the semi-trucks.

"Control the steering wheel, Elena!" Paul yelled to her as he continued to press the accelerator and leaned half his body out the window with the AK, firing it at the men in the back of the pickup. He hit three of the six quickly. Those three dropped onto the highway, while the others ducked for cover, not expecting someone to shoot at them. After shooting those three, Paul then fired at the driver, killing him instantly. The man in the passenger seat attempted to shoot Paul but, seeing his partner die, tried to take control of the steering wheel instead.

"They then started receiving gunfire from the front car as three guys, like him, were shooting from outside the window at them. Paul, not waiting after killing the guys from the pickup, was already turning his body to the front, so he came face to face with these Mexicans who had their faces covered except for their eyes. He shot back at them before they could do something to the girls inside. Paul could hear how their bullets hit his van as he returned fire, killing two in the back as the passenger in the front got back inside the car. As he attempted to shoot their wheels, they suddenly moved away from in front of them, entering a side road and driving away.

After they stopped the van on the side of the highway, Paul saw that they were a good distance away from where they wanted to make a turn to exit.

"Is everyone fine?" Paul asked them, checking on Elena, who appeared frightened out of her wits, as if her soul had left her.

"Yeah, we are fine, we didn't get hit," the girls in the back said.

Paul kept checking Elena and saw that she had some blood on her, so he quickly bit his wrist and put it beside her mouth. "Drink Elena, quickly, you were shot."

Elena wasn't feeling the shot, she didn't even know she was shot. She almost died from the fright and started sucking unconsciously from Paul's wrist, as she squirmed in ecstasy.

"Puah. Mhmmmm," Elena moaned after she drank all she could of his blood. She had never had anything like it before in her life—so tasty, so exhilarating. She didn't comment on the weird situation as she quickly unbuttoned her shirt, showing her body to Paul without any shyness. She looked at where she had been shot but didn't see any wound where the blood was, and she sighed in relief.

Paul, after seeing that she was fine after a moment, took the steering wheel again into his hands as he started the van. "Let's go back to the others. Oscar's semi-truck stopped beside the route, but the other three got off the highway."

He did a turn with the van on the highway and moved back, stopping briefly as he recollected the two assault rifles from the two guys in the back of the car that dropped on the floor. Their corpses were hanging from the windows as the car got away.

He collected two AKs that he gave to the girls to leave them in the back. Then he continued to the semi-trucks, stopping beside the one Oscar was in.

"Oscar!" Paul yelled as he exited the van. The others were also a moment after beside him.

"Oscar!" Paul yelled again as he opened the driver's door. Finding him unconscious in there in blood, fast he took his pulse with his finger, feeling a weak one, and quickly he force-fed him his blood, feeling him stable not long after. He removed him from the seat and he carried him into the back of the van so he could rest there until he woke up, which should not be long after.

"Be alert to anything. I will check these people that gunned us and then we will check for the others," Paul says to the girls as he runs a little not far to an overturned truck. He could feel the two in front, the driver and copilot, being dead. But he felt someone in the back who was struggling to breathe. Going into the cargo bed with his gun raised, he saw a man with a destroyed arm and his chest being pushed down by the truck.

"Hello, motherfucker!" Paul mocked at his misfortune. "You don't look so well, son of a bitch."

"Quien eres...cabron," the Mexican struggled to say, as he choked on his blood.

Paul, not answering, knocked him down as he tried to focus on him with his face and eyes covered in his own blood. He turned around the truck with a little push, letting it again be upwards, dragged the still alive Mexican, and tied his hands into his back with zip ties he had on him, and his legs too. Leaving him there, he picked up the guns of these guys, leaving them aside, and started shooting at the seven other bodies in the head. Then he moved into the other three semi-trucks to look for the other guys in them to see if they were still alive.

Quickly he moved into the trucks and felt them still living but unconscious. They were fine, different from Oscar who got shot. These three just got a concussion after they crashed leaving the highway.

He moved them to the van too and left them with an armed Elena as he moved again into the pickup of the people who shot them, intending to collect all their guns and anything on them.

"Holy fuck, who were these people," Claire exclaims angrily after the fright they got.

"Who knows? Survivors, some gang or cartel, they could be any of those or something else. Maybe they just saw us moving with four semi-trucks and thought we were loaded with things, making us a fat target," Paul says, looking at the dead bodies. "There were four guys that left the hotel with our guns, maybe they were part of some organization, it could be them too. It could be anything and we will know something after we interrogate this one still alive."

"Pick them clean of ammo and anything worth taking. I've already shot them in the head. Be quick, we can't stay out in the open for too long. Who knows who might be seeing us right now after all that shooting," Paul says to them as he notices a few walkers in the distance moving towards them.

The girls and Paul quickly looted them clean, and he dragged the tied guy intending to make him spit everything he knew.

"Are we ready to go?" Elena asks quickly with worry and alertness as she looks around.

Oscar and the other three were already awake.

"Yes, let's go," Paul then looked at the guys. "Can you four drive the semi-trucks? We still need those materials. You already have seen how things are outside the hotel."

The four looked between them, still feeling scared about what happened. Oscar was the one that most felt it, being shot as did Elena. But getting a hold of himself, Oscar knew what they needed to do. "Yes, let's go for those materials."

"Good, take these guns with you this time. We got quite a loot from these hijos de puta," Paul says, passing them four AK variants. It seemed the preferred gun for these guys as everyone had one. They also had a couple of pistols that they put into a backpack along with their ammo and extra magazines.

They don't find anything else of worth in them to take.

After the four armed themselves, they moved back into the semi-trucks and started them. Paul waited for a while as the others returned to their side, and then they continued moving backward into the gas station to stop and refill. They killed a few walkers roaming around the gas station and inside the building, but they couldn't get gas initially as there was no electricity to make the pump work. However, there was a generator inside the building that, once turned on, allowed the pump to work. They filled the tanks of the semi-trucks and any gas storage they got hold of, intending to siphon the fuel later as they had a backup generator back at the hotel, according to Elena.

While they were in the gas station, the man woke up in pain as his body was a mess. Paul dragged him and a chair inside the bathroom of the gas station and entered in there alone.

Sitting the man in the chair, Paul stood over the man, a mixture of anger and curiosity burning in his eyes as they changed color because of his emotional state. The man was a pitiful sight, bruised and battered, his breaths coming in ragged gasps and scared as he saw his eyes change color. Paul tied him to the chair so he couldn't move around.

"Who are you?" Paul questioned, his voice echoing off the cold tiles.

The man looked up, fear etched into every line of his face as he saw the man's eyes in front of him change color. "J-Javier," he stammered.

"Javier," Paul repeated, circling him like a predator. "Why did you attack us on the highway, Javier?"

Javier hesitated, his eyes darting around nervously. "We... we thought you were loaded with things. The four semi-trucks..."

Paul nodded, a humorless smile playing on his lips. "Bad luck for you, then. We were just passing through, they are empty." He leaned in, his voice dropping to a low growl. "Who is 'we,' Javier?"

Javier swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing as he groaned because of the pain of his destroyed arm, but he didn't answer Paul.

Paul, seeing that, started punching him softly in the guts and face, so as not to turn him into a pulp of meat.

Waiting for a moment as he came back to himself, he started talking. "The... the Rosarito beach gang."

Paul straightened up, his brows furrowing as he almost started laughing at his face. "What kind of gang name is that? Are you kidding me? You think I'm stupid or what?"

Paul's expression darkened. Grabbing a shirt from the counter and draped it over Javier's face. Javier began to struggle, panic setting in. Then, he picked up a nearby bucket, the water inside sloshing ominously as he poured it into his face.

Javier thrashed, his muffled screams filling the room. Paul counted the seconds, his heart pounding in his chest. He had never done this before, never resorted to such brutal methods. But he needed answers, and he was running out of time.

After what felt like an eternity, Paul lifted the bucket, pulling the shirt away from Javier's face. Javier gasped for air, his eyes wide with terror.

"It's true, what I'm telling is true. We are the Rosarito beach gang, we operate around Rosarito..." Javier talked with desperation as he gasped for breath.

Paul doesn't know what to think about it. "Alright, how many of you are out there? where are you guys staying?"

Javier's eyes widened, and he shook his head. "I... I can't tell you. They'll kill me."

Paul's expression darkened. He put the bucket under the faucet to fill it again, the sound of the water ticking against the plastic. "And what do you think I'll do to you, Javier?"

Javier's gaze flicked to the bucket, and he paled. "You... you wouldn't."

Paul didn't respond, as he waited for it to fill completely.

"Wait!" he cried out, his voice with despair not wanting to drown again. "Wait, please! we were over a hundred before this started, now we have a lot of slaves and workers than what we were."

Paul paused, the bucket poised over Javier's head. "Alright, I believe you. Tell me, where are you staying now."

Javier shook his head, his breaths coming in short, sharp gasps. "I... I can't. I swear, they'll kill me."

Paul sighed, a sound of resignation. "Wrong answer, Javier."

He placed the shirt back over Javier's face and poured the water.

This time, Javier's struggles were weaker, his cries softer. Paul counted the seconds patiently. He was about to pull the shirt away when Javier's body went limp, his cries silenced.

Fuck! he cursed inside. He ripped the shirt away, dropping the bucket with a clatter. Javier's head lolled to the side, his eyes closed, his chest still.

"This dickhead's heart gave up midway. I drowned him too much," Paul exclaimed, as he extended two fingers to feel for a pulse. There was nothing.

Shrugging his shoulders, he cleaned his hands in the sink before exiting the bathroom.

After he exited, the group approached him.

"Who are they?" Madison asked her son as she embraced his arm.

"They are a local gang. They found us on the highway and thought we had something as we moved around with four truckloads freights," Paul says, shrugging. "Bad luck, I think."

"So, wrong place at the wrong time?" Claire asks with doubt.

"It appears," Paul smiles.

"Where are they staying? How many are there of them?" Oscar asks him with a worried face.

"They were over a hundred according to him before the outbreak now their numbers inflated with slaves and workers they grabbed after this started," Paul says with a shrug. "He died before he could point it to us."

"Well, let's move on, who knows if the people from their group will be able to find us or come to look for troubles with us," Paul smiles as he calms them down. "Let's finish taking all the things we need and go back. I want to relax after the shit we had."

"They will come to us; the gangs always know," Elena says, worried but not as scared as she would have been before the outbreak. With a man like Paul with them, she didn't think the gang's tactics of terror and assassination would work on him as they would hope. "But he is right: we can't do anything about them for now. Let's focus better on the materials we need."

The group turned off the generator after they were done and left the gas station in the direction of the Ferreteria. The guys helped to load some or locate the things they needed, and Paul did mostly the muscle work, as he moved heavy things fast.

In the afternoon, they got back to the hotel with the vehicles and the things.
