บท 28: CHAPTER 28: Confront the Truth

　　The elevator doors hissed open, revealing the usual battlefield of the office floor. My stomach churned as I stepped out of it and I wondered if I would be able to escape Emily and Sarah if I walked fast enough but as I made a right turn, I knew that I would have no such luck. As predicted, there stood Emily and Sarah, their eyes narrowed like vultures eyeing fresh prey.

　　"Well, well, well," Emily drawled, her voice dripping with fake sweetness. "Sleeping Beauty has finally graced us with her presence."

　　"Good morning, Emily," I replied, pasting a smile on my face that resembled a grimace more than anything.

　　"It's almost noon, but I guess it's still morning to you and that's why you think you can do whatever you please," Emily replied and I fought the urge to roll my eyes.

　　Before Sarah could launch into her usual repertoire of snarky comments, a booming voice echoed down the hallway. Vance, my knight in shining armor, materialized around the corner.
