บท 230: Terrible

Langris looked at Lucien's retreating back with a complicated gaze. He was about to open his mouth and say something when Dan interrupted him. 

"Your job is to take care of that kid." Dan pointed to Misha, who was sprawled on his shoulders. 

"Don't lose focus. Misha is an indispensable member of the association. Without him, our props are nothing."

Langris fell silent. "But that kid is a newbie. How will he be able to take care of himself without having someone to back him up?"

Dan smiled at Langris helplessly.

"Look at his feet."

Langris stared at Lucien and saw something wrong in his shadow. The faint light should not cast their shadows, but at Lucien's feet, there is a distinct shadow that follows him everywhere.

It did not follow his movement or what he was doing at all. It simply puffed up and bounced like a puffing ball at Lucien's steps. Like a small child that was pleased to follow at it's parent's pace.
