The teenagers noticed that he was probably the leader due to how he was behaving and how quickly he had rose up to take the initiative of speaking with them. In response, the oldest person among the teenagers also manned up and stepped forward to meet Lucius half way so that they could talk, However, when Lucius got closer and started talking, he didn't address only the teens' leader but threw his questions to all of them.
