I could only frown at the little gouges in the blade of my broadsword. I spent the morning cleaning my weapons of grime that I forgot to do last night. I also had to sharpen this sword as it had dulled a bit. "Need to make sure I don't hit any bone, maybe aim for the eyes or throat more."
Hel had woken up this morning blushing up a storm due to the lap pillow. It was quite adorable, since she wasn't used to human contact she was quite awkward when confronted with it.
"Alright Hel, I'm heading towards the guild for my studying then I'll probably dive into the dungeon." I tuck the sword into its leather scabbard and grab my cloak and tuck it into my pouch with my gloves. I still plan to use the broadsword and improve my skills with it.
"Okay be safe!" Hel says with a smile seeing me off.
On the way I ran I was called by a familiar voice.
"Ryan?"
"Ah hello Syr, how are you?" I ask the woman.
"I am good, haven't seen you in a bit though." She says.
"Well been a bit busy, mostly diving into the dungeon and meeting with different familia. Got to admit God's and Goddesses are rather pushy. Just because I didn't want to show off my family equipment I was banned from the Hephaestus familia. It's like dealing with a bunch of children who can't control themselves." I sigh but atleast my goddess is good! I really struck gold with her. "Anyway, I think of it as something of a challenge, I mean I maintain my own equipment anyway. If it breaks though I'll be pretty bummed out. Guess I have to learn how to forge a sword at some point then."
"That sounds dangerous what about your armor?" Syr asks.
"I haven't been wearing armor, but I'll probably need to soon." I shrug.
"You should wear armor if you have it." Syr says seriously.
Well the only armor I have is darts chesplate and his greaves or the dragoon armor which I haven't used. Suppose I could wear the armor.
"Alright I'll wear it next time." I tell her.
"Good. Are you able to come in for breakfast?" Syr asks.
I do have money for breakfast actually, been a couple of days since I've eaten.
"Sure I could go for some food." I have time before meeting Rose anyway.
Syr's eyes light up and I double check to make sure I have enough money in my pouch. "1500 should be enough for breakfast right?"
"Yes, it will be fine." Syr says before pulling me into the establishment.
She puts me at an empty table and hands me a menu. "Uh I'll just have the breakfast platter with some orange juice please." The breakfast platter had bacon, eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, and even a couple pancakes. It cost about 700 vali but I felt it was worth it. I had been working hard and can spoil myself.
Syr took my money and put in my order before returning to chat a bit. A few minutes later I had a massive plate of food in front of me and a large mug of orange juice.
"Thank you." I tell the gray haired woman before digging into the food. It was incredibly delicious and the portion was huge.
"So how is it?" Syr asks.
"It's delicious." I tell her and she smiles happily.
"Good so did anything interesting happen the past couple of days." Syr asks curiously.
"I met Odin, he was pretending to be a beggar apparently and I gave him some of my money and he apparently snuck a few things into my pouch which I found in the dungeon later on." I tell her. After all it's not everyday you get to meet the god Odin.
Syr stiffens a bit at the mention of Odin. "Yeah I heard him and Zues do weird things like dress up as old men and go begging then reward promising heroes with things. What did you get if you don't mind me asking?"
"A book on magical gunsmithing. The reason I went to find Hephaestus was because I needed moulds and other tools to make bullets, if they aren't precisely built then the results could be disastrous. Bullets are ammunition fired from a gun and if the measurements are off they could explode inside of it and ruin my equipment and possible harm me." I explain and take a couple of bites from my meal. "So having a book on magical gunsmithing is good except I have to make entirely new guns and for that I have to get my hands on some rare metals."
I can't just recycle parts as they need a completely different metal and then they need to be etched in a certain way.
"I at least need to get my hands on Magisteel but that shouldn't be too hard." Mostly I'm talking to myself at this point. But Syr is politely listening. "Anyway what about you? Anything exciting happen to you?" I ask.
"Not really a couple of drunken brawls which were quickly ended. Other than that everything is the same as usual." She says happily.
"Well that's good, not the fighting but the other part." I chuckle.
"Syr stop flirting with him and get back to work we have customers." Another voice calls.
Syr turns red "Mama Mia I wasn't flirting!" She shouts quickly and scurries away to help with the growing customers.
Chuckling I finish up my meal and leave a tip on the table before heading off to the adventurer guild and meeting up with Rose.
We were going to go over monsters from the 5th floor to the 10th floor along with environmental changes and other valuable items often found in the dungeon such as metals and herbs that spawn randomly. After all it's not only for monster cores and parts that people head down into the dungeon. Items for potions, weapons and other things also show up.
