She said in a lost, aggrieved, pitiful tone, "Can you come and pick me up?"

There was silence on the other end of the phone.

She thought Wyatt would agree, she sounded so pitiful after all.

But Wyatt said, "I can't come to pick you up, you need to buy an umbrella and come back on your own."
