MC:"Is it me or is it hot in here?"
I said moving my eyebrows suggestively to the silver-haired beauty sitting by my side.
WIFE:"....The house is on fire"
She answered with a deadpan look on her face.
I shrugged at her answer which made her chuckle, well it is not like we can do much about it, as fire rages on all around us. All exits are already blocked.
MC:'Well is not like this fire was an accident anyway, they probably disabled emergency services for a while."
I thought to myself while drifting my eyes to the bodies of several (former)assailants on the floor. 'They finally got us huh' as my thoughts are interrupted by my wife snuggling by my side, one last time.
WIFE:"Sniff, I'm sorry…."
She mumbled.
MC:"Hey, don't be like that, we did our best, at least the kids got out safe"
WIFE:"No, not that, *sniff* I know this situation wouldn't bother you. I-I'm sorry, even though you really wanted, even though it meant a lot to you I....I couldn't….. I am not able to…"
Her voice keeps getting smaller as she caresses her stomach and I couldn't help but sigh.
MC:"It would be a lie to say that it didn't bump me, even a little, but I wouldn't have chosen it any other way, I would have still married you. Besides, even if not blood-related WE are still very proud of OUR kids, am I right?"
WIFE:"*chuckle* Right,*sigh* if Elisa was here now she would probably punch me in the face"
MC:"hahaha so true"
As we sat on the couch and continued to joke around, a lot of people would have called us idiots for wasting air. That would be the difference between escaping alive or dying here.
Truth be told it makes no difference to us she is fatally wounded, for her to still be speaking is a testament to how thought she is.
I've already lost my first wife to cancer, I only met my second because my first literally shoved our faces together for a kiss….And I do mean literally.
Anyway, I have no intention of going on alone, our kids are all grown up and the ones that aren't, are just a few years away and I have total confidence that they can take care of themselves and that their siblings will not let them down.
That's how we raised them. So here we are, with my wife in my arms already unconscious, and me with an ever-darkening vision.
MC:"Well Elisa...I guess we are coming to you."
And with that....nothing. I just didn't expect to be the literal nothing as my wife is still on my side with the same confused look as me.
MC:"I swear on our children if Elisa is making us wait just to make an entrance I will.."
Elisa:"CAD, IVY YOU ARE FINALLY HERE"
Hearing a familiar voice shouting behind us we turn around to see Elisa, my first wife, doing her best to fake a surprised expression that could have fooled anyone that doesn't know her, even with that cold sweat on the side of her forehead.
An uncomfortable silence draws out as I squint my eyes at the hand that she subtly hides behind her, and like a Mexican standoff the tension in the air could be cut with a knife, I extend my hand to her.
Like a kid who knows did something wrong, she lowers her head and gives me a remote control with only one button which I press and at the same time….
*whistle**whistle**whistle*
*KABOOOOMM**BOOMM**PSSS*
And it starts a pyrotechnics show for the ages, with fireworks shooting everywhere into the sky?? Does The Nothing even have a sky? Anyway, the fireworks make a lot of different, fantastical, images above us shooting from the back of big neon letters written 'WELCOME TO THE BIG ISEKAI HAREM ADVENTURE' above a stage.
I deadpan stare at her as she whistles while avoiding eye contact and Ivy holds her mouth with her hands trying hard to hold her laughter.
Cad:"*sigh* It is good to see you again, I missed you"
With a broad smile on her face, she answers "And missed the two of you" and we hug, the three of us stay like that for a while before letting go there are things to discuss.
Cad:"So what now? You made it kind of obvious what we will be doing from now on but how are we gonna do it? Where will we start?"
Lisa:"Ehe, that is the real surprise, come, come"
We follow Elisa to the back of the stage where we see a door, passing through it we find ourselves in a throne room, a very large room with a handful of people on each side, and in the back a huge pompous throne with a beautiful woman sitting on it.
As we get close the people on each side had a look of superiority on their faces, some even contempt. I'm used to it so I didn't pay any mind, but the person on the throne... Oh, we are going to have a problem.
WOMAN:"Cadmus and Ivilyn you have now died but it is not the end for you two, due to something you did in your lif..."
Cad:"What the hell are you doing here?"
I asked in the calmest tone I could muster.
RANDOM GUY:"YOUUU, HOW DARE YOU TO INTER….*BOOM**CRASHH*AAAAAAHHHHH"
I briefly glance at Lisa who blows her fist after punching the dude through a wall and get back to staring at the woman.
Cad:"So are you gonna answer, young lady?"
LADY:"That is part of what I am going to explain, I know that we had a very intimate relationship on Earth but this cannot extend to here, I am much more than what a mortal like you could ever fathom"
LADY:"So please, Mr. Cadmus, I would ask you to please behave yourself. I am immensely grateful for everything you did for me but will not hesitate to punish you accordingly."
As she answers me, the tension could be felt throughout the room, it would be much worse if it wasn't for the sound of Elisa munching popcorn that she took out of nowhere and Ivy, why are you going along with her shenanigans. Sigh.
Anyway, I think now is my cue she's still trying to keep her regal and self-important air, but I know her best, the occasional light trembling of her eyes as she tries to keep eye contact, the tempo of her normal breathing is wrong and hand tightens in her throne.
Yeah, right, you are the same as on Earth, so I narrow my eyes at her, which made her shift on her throne and say.
Cad:"Father"
LADY:"UH?!"
Cad:"I am your father, young lady and I asked you a simple question, what are you doing here? I took you out of that house you are not supposed to be here yet and don't give me this self-important speech bullcrap you are the same brat that I used to spank for doing the same thing on Earth, and I will do it again even in front of all these people"
LADY:"Y-you wouldn't da.."
Cad:"TRY ME"
And a staring match ensues, sigh, Elisa please could you stop taking whatever it's for a betting pool from these people, you know I will win.
But this brat is resisting quite well, even though she is a little pale and fidgeting on her throne. I guess I'll have to do it then, so I take a step forward.
LADY:"SOWWY DADDY"
In a literal blink of an eye and all that snobby air is broken as she clings to my waist with tears forming from the sides of her eyes. Heh no matter age or emotional growth, they will always be the same brats in front of their parents.
Cad:"*Sigh* You are not dead are you?
*shakes head*
Cad:"Good….I'm glad to see you, I love you my little star"
And just like always, I caress her head as Stella closes her eyes enjoying my hand when.
*snap**snap**snap*
She moves away from me and looks at Alice whom it's taking pictures of our interaction.
Stella:"MOM"
Lisa:"hehehe Those were great, she looks really cute."
Ivy:"They never change, no matter how much they say they have grown."
This is my crazy family and I wouldn't change anything, and now it looks like we are going to start a crazy adventure. It doesn't really matter to me as long as we are together but I do worry about what Elisa has in store for us.
That glint in her eyes and the mischievous smirk on her face. I'm 100% certain that a lot of crazy stuff will happen, sigh, I guess this is how everything starts.
