บท 23: The Vampire Hunter's Confessions

"Is what Carl and Matthew said true?" Jade asked Max when they finally had some time together.

Max didn't answer right away. He swallowed his saliva with a serious face and occasionally his nose flared.

"You really have that wolf smell, I mean Shane wolf," Max told her and looked at her.

Jade of course tried to smell her body to make sure. But she smelled nothing but the smell of her body from perfume.

"I can't smell a wolf," Jade said.

"The vampire's body itself can't smell the wolf on its body. Since when has he been around you?" Max asked.

The last few days, she thought. But not knowing why Jade didn't answer honestly. She wanted to say that they met yesterday. And somehow, Jade was sure that Shane would say the same thing later if Max met him.

But not!

Jade suddenly remembered that Max could see and read what vampires and werewolves were thinking.
