9.8% Falling For My CEO / Chapter 5: WHEN YOU CLASH WITH THE RICH

บท 5: WHEN YOU CLASH WITH THE RICH

EMILY'S STANDPOINT

"What in goodness have were you thinking?" Ann screeched, helping me pack my belongings and I rolled my eyes, totally disgusted by everything.

No one was talking about the fact that the slut slapped me unjustly they just went on and on about how crazy I was to have messed with Alexander. If only they knew how crazy it was for him to have messed with me also.

"You should have begged and cried if possible, asking him to spare your life."

I noisily dropped my crates of load on the table, turning around to glare at her.

"Are you being serious right now Ann?"

"Yes Emily, I'm being serious right now. You don't seem to understand how messed up things would become for you once you step out of here, do you?" she asked and I rolled my eyes bored with her charades.

"And you don't seem to care if I'm ok or not. You keep going on and on about how messed up my life will be because I just happened to land in the unfortunate hands of Alexander and got slapped by his slut. Can you at least tell me something that I would love to hear?" I gave her a poker face, finding her really annoying at the moment.

"I hope you survive through it all," she patted my shoulders pathetically before walking away and I scoffed.

I've been through worst and I survived. This is going to be nothing for me. Getting fired wasn't totally a bad thing. I'll just have to search for a new job and hope that no one recognizes me.

"Oh, Emily," Ann said, peeking into the room.

"Yeah?"

"The boss wants you out of his restaurant in less than five minutes," she said, smiling and I rolled my eyes.

"In his words, each minute you spend here he loses potential rich clients," she added.

"He should be glad that I'm keeping the arrogant assholes away," I snorted, grabbing my crate, ready to leave.

"He cares more about their money and not their character and that's what he is more concerned about."

It was quite irritating to see people sucking up to the asses of these rich bastards and accepting whatever trash they throw away them rather than stand up to them and tell them how dumb they all are.

I walked out of the restaurant without looking back and stared into the sky.

The sky was a little gloomy today and it made me smile. At least it felt my displeasure she agreed with me that I didn't do anything wrong.

You did ruin the dress of the richest CEO

My traitorous conscience reminded me and I snorted, heading home.

I was out of cash and boarding a cab was just not feasible right now so I took the shortest route back home, trekking.

I don't know which was more annoying. Getting fired, being broke or having people give you weird stares after glancing at their phones.

I rushed home, avoiding the eyes of everyone.

I got into the house and sighed in relief, meeting the house empty. I settled on the floor, totally worn out from having to deal with everything that's happened today.

I heard a noise from the kitchen and I frowned, wondering who was in there.

"Who is there?" I asked but got no reply. I got up from the floor and slowly approached the kitchen, picking up an iron bar as a weapon.

I got to entrance of the kitchen and saw no one which was confusing.

"I could swear that I heard someone's voice in here," I muttered under my breath.

"What are you doing?"

"Ahhhh!!!!" I screamed and whoever sneaked up behind me screamed as well. I lifted up the iron bar ready to attack.

"Why the hell are you screaming!" Aunty Tessy yelled, looking at me horrified and I paused.

"Aunty Tessy?" I called to be sure and she took off her nose mask, glaring at me.

"You nearly gave me an heart attack. What are you doing back home at this time? Shouldn't you be working?" She walked past me returning to the kitchen and I dropped the iron bar, having no use for it anymore.

"Something came up and I had to return back home. What are you doing back here, I thought you had a date?" I folded my hands across my chest, squinting my eyebrows at her.

"My date stood me up," she huffed in reply. Dishing out some rice pudding into the cooler to keep it warm.

I bit my lips trying to stop myself from laughing out loud, it would only get her upset.

"You should really take a break from all this dates because you're—"

"I'm getting too old for dates?" She interrupted, completing the sentence for me and I shrugged.

"I wouldn't put it that way….." I drawled, trying not to upset her but I doubt that was working. The way she was glaring at me was enough prove that she was already pissed.

It wasn't my fault that her dates never go well and even the few that do they end up being good for nothing bastards.

"While we are on the topic of quitting things that we are getting too old for, why don't you quit being such a magnet from trouble."

"A magnet for trouble?" I repeated, furrowing my eyebrows at her.

"What do you mean?"

She couldn't possibly know about my little encounter and exchange with Alexander, could she?

"Yes, I know about what happened today at your work place and seeing that you're home by this time I presume that you've been fired for offending the most desirable bachelor in town," she replied smirking.

"Most desirable bachelor my foot," I snorted.

"Even the neighbors ugly dog is more desirable to flies than he'll ever be to me."

"That's what you think but everyone thinks otherwise."

She finished up in the kitchen and wiped her hands clean.

"Come with me, I have something to talk to you about," she said, walking out of the kitchen and I frowned, wondering what it was. I followed her anyways.

"Come, sit beside me," she smiled, tapping the space beside her and I slowly sat beside her, watching her suspiciously.

"Why do I feel like I won't like whatever it is that you're about to tell me?"

"You don't have to like it," she replied, confirming my fears.

She grabbed my hands in hers and smiled, "I just what you to know that I love you very much. After all, no matter how much of a problem you are you will always be my niece."

"Just get it over with," I scoffed, snatching my hands from hers.

"You don't have to play the sweet aunty part to me and break my heart later."

"Makes sense," she nodded, handing me a letter and I took it, frowning.

"What's this?" I looked up to her waiting for an explanation.

"Don't ask me, it's in your hand, read it," she replied, refusing to give me an answer.

I tore the letter open and my face crumpled into a frowning seeing the contents of the letter.

"You're firing me?" I gasped at her in horror.

"It was either this or I lose my entire business to Alexander. As much as I love you my sweet niece, I need to keep business running," she replied, smiling.

"This is Alexander's doing right?" I clenched the letter in my hand, picturing Alexander's face in my head and me stabbing him.

"Who else did you offend this period other than him," she replied with an eye roll.

"To show you how reluctant I was to fire you, I decided to make you and your dad dinner. Your dad will need his strength after I give this to him," she said, bringing out an envelope.

"What's this?" I frowned.

"Check it out." I grabbed the envelope from her and brought out it's contents, my face darkening in anger as I read it's content.

"They want to demolish the taekwondo center?"

"Did Alexander give you this?"

"No, he didn't," she shook her head negatively.

"I picked it up from the mailbox while coming in. I didn't want it to be the first thing your father reads when he gets back from work. The old man has been through a lot and if he finds out that the center is getting sold because of you, I wonder how he will react."

"Alexander can't do this? That taekwondo is Dad's way of connecting with mom. How will he survive when it gets taken down?"

"You should have thought about him when going up against Alexander," Aunty Tessy replied and I gritted my teeth in anger.

"Look, things don't have to the up this messy. You can simply beg him to forgive you and I'm sure once he sees that you're sorry he'll forgive you," Aunty Tessy said and I scowled, hating the idea of begging the asshole.

I didn't ruin his clothes on purpose and his slut slapped me first and I slapped her back in self defence. Even the court would find me innocent of the issue was dragged to court.

"I rather eat shit down beg the bastard," I replied stubbornly, making up my mind not to grovel before him like he wants me to do.

"Then I guess you prefer seeing your father land in the hospital instead once he hears about the taekwondo center," Aunty Tessy replied, crossing her legs against each other.

"What do I need to know about the taekwondo center?" Dad asked, standing before us, frowning and my eyes widened in horror.

"Dad, when did you walk in?" I giggled nervously and he glanced between us, his gaze settling on Tessy.

"Tessy…." He called, totally ignoring me and Aunty Tessy glanced at me.

"Don't tell him anything," I tried saying with my eyes but I didn't know if she understood.

"What do I need to know about the taekwondo center?" Dad repeated.

"Alright, this might come as a surprise to you," Aunty Tessy began, clearing her throat first.

"Emily and I decided to renovate the center but I suggested that we tell you first so you don't get a heart attack when you see the changes in the center and land in a hospital," Aunty Tessy said, the lie rolling out of her mouth smoothly.

If I didn't already know the truth, I would actually believe her.

She must have lied her way out of a lot of things for her to be this good with lying

"I'm not that faint hearted to land in a hospital over some little changes," Dad replied giving us a boring look and we both exchanged glances, breaking into a laugh.

"It's better to be safe, right?" She asked, glancing at me.

"Right," I replied, patting her and Dad rolled his eyes.

"What are those papers anyways?" Dad asked, moving closer and I glanced at the papers on the couch, alarmed.

I couldn't let him see them.

"Ooh, these?" I immediately grabbed the papers, squeezing them in my hands.

"I was just about to throw them out," I smiled nervously and without waiting to hear what he had to say, I rushed out with the papers.

"Why is she acting weird?" I heard dad ask as I closed the door beside me.

I stepped outside and glared at the papers in my hands, thinking of ways to get out of this mess.

Alexander playing dirty by messing with my father's joy because he had money and I had nothing except my mouth and my fist is cruel.

I decided to take a walk to cool down because it felt like I could blow up in anger and frustration any minute from now.

I noticed a car following closely behind me but it was the least of my worries right now so I simply ignored it existence even when it kept honking at me until it finally drove roughly in front of me and blocked my  paths.

"What the hell?" I yelled.

A richly dressed woman in shades can't put it the car and walked up to me.

"Are you Emily?" She asked, taking off her glasses and I frowned, wondering who the hell she was.

"Who are you?" I replied rudely. I had enough of rich people already and last thing I wanted was to have someone block my path when I'm trying to think of a way to get out of a mess that her kind put me in.

"I'm Mrs. Beatrice Knight Roberts," she introduced and my eyes widened in horror.

"You're….. You're—" I shuttered, unable to make a proper sentence and she smiled.

"Yes, I'm Alexander's mom...."
