Everit quickly withdrew after his successful attack on the Knight of Justice and he moved toward the Knight of Truth and attack him successfully forcing him to retreat and allowing himself to rescue Lucy and Juvia from harm's way.
The sound of impact echoed as the Knight of Justice hit the ground. The Knight of Honor came to his side, both of them casting wary glances to the right, anticipating Everit's next move.
The faint magic feedback indicated that Everit had already retreated to a safe distance.
Everit was in no rush to engage in direct combat. He knew that patience would be his greatest ally.
Why take unnecessary risks when he could win over time?
He preferred to stay in control, observing the enemy's magical prowess, attack patterns, and physical capabilities.
Meanwhile, Laxus was engaged in a fierce battle with a foe who claimed to wield the "magic of persuasion." This magic had a variety of effects: with just a single word, he could immobilize someone. He could also negate, freeze, or even reflect magic. Additionally, he could manipulate surrounding materials like soil and steel, using them to attack.
This magic was exceptionally troublesome, and Laxus was finding himself in a difficult position. Despite his exceptional physical strength, he couldn't seem to overcome this opponent's magic.
As the battle wore on, Laxus's frustration grew, fueling his rage. But Everit knew that no magic, no matter how powerful, was invincible. There had to be a weakness in this magic.
At the same time, Erza was battling the Heroic Knight. This opponent was relentless, with a unique magic: self-destruction followed by immediate resurrection.
The self-destruction was triggered after three seconds, packing enough power to make even Erza's Adamantine Armor struggle to withstand it. Using any other armor would be risky.
Killing this opponent prematurely would only trigger an early detonation, weakening the blast but not eliminating it entirely.
Everit knew that resurrection from the dead was impossible, but the exact mechanism behind this knight's magic required further observation to uncover.
Natsu and Gray were in the middle of a heated battle against the Spiritual Knight. This opponent was far from ordinary.
Instead of using traditional magic, the Spiritual Knight relied solely on physical combat—his fists. He was known for his ability to adapt and engage with enemies fluidly, but this time, he was taking on both Natsu and Gray in a straightforward fight, which was unexpected.
What was even more surprising was that he was holding his ground against both of them without suffering any significant damage!
Meanwhile, Lucy and Juvia were facing off against the Knight of Truth, whose name was quite misleading—despite being called "Truth," he was anything but lies.
His swordsmanship was nearly as precise as Ikaruga's, and his physical strength was formidable. Leo and Taurus were throwing heavy blows with their respective fists and axes, yet the Knight of Truth's body remained unscratched!
The only one not actively engaged in battle was the Knight of Sacrifice. This guy had a different approach: he claimed that "sacrifices are necessary," then used shadow-thunder magic to take civilians hostage.
It seemed he intended to use them to force Everit and his allies to give in to his demands.
Shadow-thunder magic? His magic must have the ability to drain others' magic—because it originated from Wade.
Finally, the Knight of Honour and the Knight of Justice were battling Everit.
The Knight of Honour came equipped with a variety of magical tools, using them in combat as his primary method of attack.
The Knight of Justice wielded a large wooden hammer, capable of massive destruction with its sheer force. His magic was straightforward but devastating.
Everit assessed the battle, noting that the enemy's distribution was quite strategic.
The most challenging opponent, the Humble Knight, was being handled by Laxus.
Erza had her hands full with the Heroic Knight, who had the ability to self-destruct explosions.
The Spiritual Knight seemed unable to overcome Natsu and Gray, at least for now.
Everit knew that with Lucy and Juvia holding their own, things shouldn't get out of hand.
As for the Knight of Sacrifice, he wasn't killing civilians; he was using them as hostages to pressure Everit and the others, which was actually a relief—if he started indiscriminately slaughtering people, it would be a much harder situation to manage.
However, these bizarre knights were fervent believers. Each seemed driven by a strong, but often incomprehensible, set of principles that wouldn't make sense to ordinary people.
Everit looked down at his new weapon, the Tier 7.0. Aside from an extra bullet chamber, it looked like its predecessor—a sleek black revolver with gold trim.
It retained many of the same functions but with significant upgrades. Among its capabilities were single-shot, burst, explosive rounds, virtual flashes, jet wind, barriers, and self-destruction.
The development of the Tier 7.0 had just been completed a few days ago, and now was the perfect time to test its combat effectiveness.
**Bang!**
The shot rang out as the Knight of Justice quickly dodged. He didn't dare to take a direct hit. The Knight of Honour followed with another blast.
The Knight of Honour flashed his shiny mechanical watch, tapping it twice to summon a shield. The tremendous explosion that followed—**BOOM!**—was as powerful as the Heroic Knight's self-destruction technique.
The impact was many times stronger than before, and it consumed a lot more magic power.
The **shua** of the bullet indicated the Knight of Justice had located his position, so he charged forward with a hammer, ready to strike.
Everit quickly drew his blade, named Haven, to meet the attack head-on. But before the hammer could land, Everit took a step back, leaving the Knight of Justice staring in disbelief at the shattered half of his wooden hammer.
"How could this happen?!" he exclaimed. The Knight of Honour seemed impressed by the sharpness of Everit's weapon. To counterattack, he pulled out a handful of candy-like objects and tossed them toward Everit.
Everit raised his hand, conjuring a gust of wind that not only pushed him backward but also sent the candies flying back towards the Knight of Honour.
**Rumble!**
A series of explosions ensued, creating a thick cloud of smoke and dust. Everit vanished from sight, making it difficult for his opponents to gauge his distance, although his general location was still apparent.
The Knight of Justice and the Knight of Honour both became hyper-aware of their surroundings, knowing that one wrong move could lead to a critical injury.
Meanwhile, in the city, the Knight of Sacrifice was causing chaos, driving away the townspeople. He grabbed a little girl by her braid, yanking her as she cried out, but he seemed indifferent to her suffering.
"Stop!" shouted Edward, standing up, though his voice was weakened by a fit of coughing, as if his lungs were about to give out.
The Knight of Sacrifice sneered at him. "You're an old man," he said, pulling the little girl by her hair. "What have you done for peace in your lifetime? Nothing! Now you're just a sick old man. You should be thanking me instead of glaring at me."
He continued to drag the girl away, ignoring Edward's weak protests.
"In this great war against the demons, you and your kind have been a burden. Yet here you are, angry at someone who's actually doing something to maintain peace. You should be grateful!"
