บท 137: Chapter 108.2 : Truth!!

After Everit lay down, Wendy's gentle magic enveloped him, and he could feel the pain in his body gradually easing.

"Wendy!!!" A loud shout echoed from the doorway as Carla stormed into the room, her face filled with anger.

"Ah, Carla, you're awake." Wendy was startled and then looked a bit embarrassed.

Carla had heard that Everit was a notorious playboy, known for his skills in charming girls. She had even seen several clips of Everit embracing Wendy, which made her very wary. She believed that even if Everit's intentions were innocent, it was best to avoid getting too close to him.

Wendy felt Carla was overreacting. Although she was slightly embarrassed by Everit's hug, it didn't mean anything serious.

She could see that the relationship between Mr. Everit and Miss Tiffany was complicated, and she felt she wasn't mature enough to compare with him.

"I have to thank that tomcat a lot." Carla said coldly.

"Uh," Happy at the door explained awkwardly, "I just wanted to invite Carla to go fishing."

"After a whole day of fighting, you invite a girl to go fishing at night. You're really something, Mr. Cat Dragon." Everit shook his head helplessly. No wonder Happy couldn't keep up with him; all these years of following him seemed pointless!

Though he had never been in a relationship, Everit was well-versed in theory. If he wanted a girlfriend, it would be easy for him!

Happy often laughed at others, but when it came to practice, he failed miserably!

"I'm just treating Mr. Everit, Carla. Don't look at me like that; it's very rude." Wendy said.

"Go ahead and get treated. I'll wait here." Carla folded her arms and said.

"Carla, why not have some fish while you wait?" Happy suggested, coming closer.

"No need." Carla refused outright.

Happy looked at Everit.

"Happy, come here." Everit waved his hand, and Happy immediately perked up. Was he about to teach him something new?

"Go to sleep." Everit said with two words, and Happy immediately lay down on the bed and started snoring.

He tucked Happy into bed and then settled down for his treatment.

After the treatment was done, Carla quickly took Wendy away. As they left, Carla's voice could be heard scolding: "How bold of you to enter a single boy's room in the middle of the night!"

"But Mr. Everit is not a bad person." Wendy defended, clearly displeased.

"Carla," Everit glanced at Happy, who was sleeping peacefully next to the pillow like Natsu, "It's a bit tricky to deal with someone so tsundere."

"But—"

Everit adjusted the blanket over Happy and added, "Straightforward people might not be able to handle tsunderes."

The next day.

Everit was still lying in bed.

"Everit, you lazy bum, how long are you going to sleep? We need to get moving!"

"Come on, get up! You're the last one awake!"

Natsu and Gray burst into the room and shook Everit awake.

After a night of rest, the two of them felt full of energy.

"Hmm..." Everit rubbed his eyes and said, "Let me get dressed."

As he spoke, he tossed Happy over to Natsu.

"Hurry up," Natsu said, taking Happy and heading out with Gray.

"Ha—" Everit stretched his arms.

"Good morning, Everit. They've already prepared breakfast, so I didn't make anything for you," Miko said from the side.

"Yeah." Everit yawned, clearly in need of more rest.

He took out a card, which transformed into a suit.

He stood up, and Miko bent down slightly to help him get dressed.

Feeling more awake after changing clothes, Everit went outside to wash his face and rinse his mouth.

"Hurry up, Everit! Wendy and the others are here to thank us. They're waiting for us in the square," Natsu called out.

"Oh, right."

Everit followed Natsu and Gray to the square.

A large crowd had gathered.

Nirvana could be seen as the tragic fate of the Cait Shelter. More precisely, it is the regret of Roubaul, the current Guild Master of the Cait Shelter and the leader of the Nirvit tribe who created Nirvana magic four hundred years ago.

Even though the real Roubaul had long since departed, his spirit continued to guard the place, unwilling to let Nirvana fall into the hands of others.

With Nirvana now destroyed, their four-century-old wish had finally been fulfilled, and they could finally be free.

When Everit approached the village last night, he uncovered the truth.

In the entire village, no one was affected by his magic.

They were all manifestations of magical power.

Including the Guild Master standing before him, none were real people.

But he chose not to reveal this.

The Guild Master and the villagers expressed their gratitude to everyone.

The Blue Pegasus members leaped with excitement, and soon, Natsu, Lucy, and the others joined in.

Wendy, unable to contain herself, jumped twice before stopping with a flushed face.

Guild Master Roubaul and the villagers remained serious.

This caused everyone to gradually quiet down, sensing that something was off about the atmosphere.

"Given the situation, there are some truths that need to be shared with everyone," Roubaul said.

Everyone turned their attention to him.

Wendy and Carla looked puzzled, uncertain about what was coming next.

"Actually," Roubaul began, struggling slightly, "We are not descendants of the Nirvits. We are the Nirvits from four hundred years ago."

"Huh?!" The crowd gasped in shock.

"Didn't he die four hundred years ago?" Lucy started to ask but abruptly covered her mouth.

"Ms. Lucy, you are correct," Roubaul confirmed with a nod. "I regret to admit that I am the one who created Nirvana four hundred years ago."

"!!!!" The revelation stunned everyone.

Even though they were all wizards, they found this revelation too astonishing!

Everit adjusted his glasses, wondering how formidable this old man had been at his peak.

Everyone listened in silence as Roubaul began to recount the story of Nirvana——

Four hundred years ago, to end the war and create a better world, Roubaul led his people to create Nirvana, a magical force that reversed the concepts of good and evil.

However, no magic is perfect. No matter how powerful a magician is, they can only approach the truth, never fully grasp it.

An unexpected flaw emerged in Nirvana. The Nirvit tribe managed to turn the bad people outside into good, but they didn't anticipate that the good people within their own tribe would be turned into bad ones. This unforeseen consequence led to a massive civil war.

This great civil strife ultimately destroyed their country.

Roubaul was filled with regret and had no choice but to seal away Nirvana.

"In truth," Roubaul said, looking at Wendy and Carla, "I died four hundred years ago. What you see now is merely a semblance of my former self."

"For four centuries, I have awaited the day when Nirvana would be destroyed."

"Now, that day has come, and I am deeply grateful to all of you."

Roubaul cast a glance at Everit, who remained silent but bowed deeply in acknowledgment.

Suddenly, one of the villagers vanished.

Then, two or three more disappeared, followed by four or five, then seven or eight—one by one, everyone was gone.

"What's happening?!" Everyone exclaimed in shock.

"Where is everyone going?!" Wendy and Carla cried out in desperation, reaching out in a futile attempt to stop the disappearances.

'Plop'

They collapsed to the ground.

"Don't disappear!!" Wendy cried out in desperation.

"Wendy, I'm sorry for keeping this from you," Roubaul said. "Everyone in the guild is actually an illusion created by me."

He recounted the events that led to this moment.

Before Wendy arrived, he was the only one guarding this place.

Then, seven years ago, Mystogan brought Wendy to find him.

He could see that the young man had a mission to fulfill as well.

So he took Wendy in.

But after Wendy woke up, she cried and wanted Jellal, saying that Jellal had promised to take her to join the Wizard Guild.

To comfort Wendy, he expended a vast amount of magic power to create an entire village and its inhabitants, including members of the Wizard Guild.

"So..." Lucy covered her mouth in shock. "The entire guild..."

"Yes, it's all an illusion created for Wendy," Roubaul admitted.

"No, I can't accept this. Everyone, please don't disappear. If this is all just a lie, why couldn't you deceive me forever?" Wendy broke down in tears.

"Wendy..." Everyone looked at the devastated Wendy and Carla, unsure of how to console them.

Lucy, deeply empathetic, began to cry as well.

Erza glanced at Everit and signaled with her eyes— it was his turn.

Everit adjusted his glasses. Handling such a situation was not easy for him.

"Wendy," Roubaul said, "You already have real friends. You no longer need this illusion."

He looked at everyone once more and added, "Everyone, I'm leaving Wendy and Carla in your care."
