Amidst the flattery of the masses, the day of the banquet finally arrived.

It was night and the moonbeams were as calm as water. There were numerous luxurious carriages parked outside the Gu household, but there were still people who were arriving for the banquet.

As he took in all the compliments which were thrown at him, General Gu smiled until his eyes aligned in one long slit. His grinning, wrinkled old face displayed the utmost pride and delight as though these people were only fit to admire the Gu family.

During this time, an austere-looking carriage stopped at the gates. Everyone turned their gaze impulsively towards the carriage and immediately noticed the symbol on the carriage. Even those who were surrounding General Gu stopped their flattery…

"It’s someone from the Hundred Herb Hall! With the kind of relationship between the Hundred Herb Hall and the Gu family, why would they be here?"
