The moment the beverage hit his stomach, Fable sensed something was wrong. He hurriedly pursed his lips, but the heart-wrenching sensation had already spread from his gut to every limb in his body. Before he could cry for help, the world spun wildly around him, and then everything before his eyes turned black as he fell into unconsciousness.

The icy water roused Fable from his stupor. Opening his eyes, he discovered that he was floating on the surface of the water, surrounded by darkness. He had no idea where he was.

Fable thought to himself.

He found the water beneath him very strange, so he stopped to lick it with his tongue.

Fable licked again but couldn't identify the beverage.
