บท 51: Chapter 51: Marley VS Maga!

While I was lying on the ground beside Alf, I felt two arms grab me from underneath; they picked me up before they started flying away with me lying in their arms. Opening my eyes, I was greeted by Illumia, looking bland as usual while gently carrying me in her arms.

"When did you return Illumia?" Asked Elif as his eyes closed again.

"I had returned during the middle of your battle, your highness. Everything went smoothly, and Idonea has officially joined the R.M.A as a first-year student." Answered Illumia as she landed in Elif's Private booth before arriving in the bedroom and lying Elif on the bed.

"Hmm, that's good to know, so what did you think of the battle? It's okay, Illumia, be honest, and don't hold back your praises of me." Said Elif with a smirk and a small chuckle at the end, though he quickly gripped his chest in pain.

"Your performance was quite splendid, your highness, especially with your ingenuity in thinking of a way to break your opponent's defense that would have otherwise caused your defeat." Said Illumia, a rare smile forming on her face as she honestly complimented Elif, much to his satisfaction.

"But you still have much to learn and improve upon, especially with your reckless behavior." Continued Illumia, causing the smile on Elif's face to twitch in annoyance.

"I agree that initiating close combat with Alf when just a few of her attacks could've finished me was reckless, but I had a plan, and it worked out in the end, so no harm, no foul." Said Elif, trying to make his reckless action sound sensible, though all he got in response was a blank stare from Illumia.

"I hope I'm not interrupting anything, Prince Elif, Ms. Illumia, but their Majesties have ordered me to come and heal you so you may be in peak condition for the final match." Said Lynda politely as she slightly opened the door while bowing.

"It's great you're here, Lynda, but I must decline your services currently as I need you to heal Maga since I doubt he is at his peak, and I'll need him to be at his very best when he fights Marley so he can force her to show some of her techniques." Said Elif after thinking of the best course of action before fighting Marley.

"Are you sure about that, Prince Elif? You are in quite bad shape?" Asked Lynda after carefully scanning him with her divine sense.

"Yes, I'm positive. If Marley defeats Maga too quickly, it won't matter if I'm at my peak since I will know almost nothing about her fighting style while she knows practically everything about mine." Replied Elif, showcasing great foresight.

Once I finished explaining my reason, Lynda no longer opposed my idea and quickly left after giving a bow; however, even though Lynda will be helping Maga, that doesn't mean I'm just going to lay here doing nothing. Swallowing a rejuvenation pill, I meditated and began spreading the energy from the pill to my most damaged body parts, such as my punctured lung and destroyed stomach. However, while my stomach will take some time to heal, on the bright side, it is not an organ that will affect my fighting capabilities like my lung.

Just like this, thirty minutes passed by with me doing nothing but carefully healing myself, and when it was time for the last battle before the final match, most of my injuries had been healed, leaving just the major ones left to fully recover.

Sitting up without much difficulty except for some soreness all over my body and pain on the left side of my chest, I float myself over to the throne and take out a bowl of lighting cherries, only for me to put them right back as my stomach still wasn't fully healed yet.

"I've returned after healing Maga Dagmar to the best of my abilities Prince Elif; now, if you'll excuse me, I'll use the remaining time before your fight to get you back into peak condition." Announced Lynda as she walked into the room before stopping on the left side of the throne and started working her doctor magic on Elif.

Nodding to Lynda while staying focused on the match, I saw Marley arrive at the arena first, sporting her arrogant look as usual as she waited for Maga. However, she didn't have to wait long since he appeared shortly after her, looking as if he didn't just participate in a fierce fight less than an hour ago. When he landed on the arena, he ignored Marley's presence and looked in my direction before bowing, most likely expressing his gratitude to me for having Lynda heal him.

I could see his action of ignoring Marley had angered her as she looked like she was about to attack him at any given second; only when he focused back on the match did she slightly calm down, though she was still fuming. They stood there staring at each other as they waited for the announcer to start the match, and the moment he did, Maga instantly launched several attacks at her, seemingly going all out from the very beginning of the match.

I watched how Marley, in response, launched a powerful palm attack of similar nature to mine and saw it overpower every single one of Maga's attacks one by one, only getting destroyed by his last attack; however, that round of attacks was enough to showcase the difference in strength between Maga and Marley.

'They weren't lying when they said Marley was powerful; this isn't good, the power of my attacks is on par with Maga's, so she'll be able to destroy them quite easily.' Contemplated Elif as he tried to come up with a way to win against Marley while simultaneously watching Maga get wholly dominated during the battle.

The battle was practically one-sided; from the looks of it, Marley was also using her full strength, but still, none of Maga's attacks could even get close to Marley, as they would all be quickly destroyed by Marley's own attacks.

The battle went on for some time, with Maga being the only one to get injured until he was eventually forced into a corner before using a pill that increased his cultivation base to a peak Half-step Divine, the same cultivation level as Marley's, and what really makes this situation so great for Maga is; Marley doesn't have access to any pills that increases a person's cultivation base as she is already a peak Half-step Divine, and a pill that could increase her cultivation to an Early Divine would be considered a Saint tier pill, something that would get her disqualified.

Now that Maga's strength was on par with Marley, he forced her to fight seriously, causing her to use different techniques and fight differently, allowing me to gain a deeper understanding of Marley's battle tactics. However, unfortunately, while Maga's strength was equal to that of Marley's, the effects of the pill would eventually run dry, forcing him to drop back down to his true cultivation base, and it didn't take long before the effects started disappearing as you could vividly sense the power in his attacks start dropping off.

Once he returned to his true cultivation base, not only was he weaker than Marley, but he was also significantly injured and exhausted, leaving him pretty much defenseless before Marley, and with Marley only having taken a moderate amount of damage, it was clear to see who won the match, but instead of just ending the match with a single attack, Marley began toying with Maga, much to her amusement. The so-called 'battle' continued with Marley constantly humiliating Maga, and since he hasn't been knocked unconscious, the match can't end, though while Maga could admit defeat, I have a feeling he is too prideful for something like that, and I can't blame him as I would also never admit defeat.

'This is getting out of hand; at this point, Maga can't even fight back; he's merely at Marley's mercy.' Thought Elif, feeling greatly irked with Marley at her disgraceful act of toying with Maga.

"The match has concluded with Marley Eve's victory over Maga Dagmar! The match is now OVER." Announced Elif, projecting his voice across the entire coliseum while greatly emphasizing the word 'Over' as he eyed Marley through the glass wall.

When I finished the announcement, Marley stopped attacking Maga and looked directly at me, and with the eye contact we made, I could see her desire to disobey my words, but I'd already had enough of her foolish games.

'Think careful, Marley. Do you really wish to defy my words, the words of the Crown Prince, Before such an audience?' Said Elif seriously to Marley via divine sense.

Although Marley was quite arrogant, it seemed she wasn't downright foolish, considering she clicked her tongue in anger as she let go of Maga before heading back to the VIP area, while Maga returned to the VIP area with the help of some servants.

"With Marley Eve having won the match against Maga Dagmar and advancing on to the Final match, we will witness the two most popular people of the younger generation in the Immortal Elven Empire! We have the leading figure among the younger generation who's bested all her opponents with incredible might, Marley Eve, fighting against one of the youngest contestants, the one everyone knows and loves, Crown Prince Elif!" Shouted the announcer with great enthusiasm and excitement, to which the spectators showed even greater excitement.

"Now then, before the final match starts, we will have a one-hour intermission to allow both contestants to recover to their best condition possible, so until then, make sure to keep that excitement!" Said the announcer before quickly disappearing from the arena.

"How is my condition, Lynda?" Asked Elif as he looked over to Lynda.

"If you worried about not being at one hundred percent before the match, then no need o worry; you'll be completely healed by the time the match starts." Answered Lynda as she poked one of Elif's acupuncture points with a golden needle.

Nodding in response, I turned to look at Illumia, who was standing on the other side and was about to ask her a question, but I noticed Mandy was still present in the room, which was fine; I had just honestly forgotten about her.

"Illumia, what would you say my chances of winning against Marley are?" Asked Elif, figuring it wouldn't hurt to get a judgment from someone as experienced as Illumia, though he already had an inkling of his chances.

"If you were to use any of the pills you have in your possession during the match, you would undoubtedly win; however, knowing your personality, I don't believe you would utilize such means if your life weren't in danger, so to answer your question, the chances of you winning against Marley, are less than point one percent." Answered Illumia with her monotone voice as she stood beside Elif's throne.
