บท 6: Farewell to My Comrades, and Hello Vice President
January 13, 2027 (Wednesday)
KI Headquarters, Incheon, South Korea
Sujin rather enjoyed the couple of days she spent with her techie brother. JaeSeong had made everyday fun in some way. The second day Sujin spent with JaeSeong, his comrades taught her how to play LOL, and by the end of the day, Sujin was a highly skilled LOL player. The employees along with Sujin helped JaeSeong score many victories over the course of two days. When it was finally time for Sujin to be trained by JaeYoung, the VP, all the employees in the IT department were sad.
⌠We were having such a good time playing LOL with the future CEO. ⌡ They think. Their faces crestfallen.
When Sujin finally says her farewell to the IT department, they send her off with a LOL farewell.
The LOL song starts playing and all the employees place their hand over their heart and their other behind their back. They stand at attention waiting for the order. JaeSeong, standing at his desk, raises his sword, then brings it back down to rest at his side. The employees then start to chant.
"Sujin, Sujin, Our fair maiden Sujin! We enjoyed our time together, and we fear that it has come to an end! We hope for your success and wish you all the best! Our Sujin, Our Sujin, how we love you so, come play LOL with us in a week or so? Sujin oh Sujin, good luck on your quest! We wish you all the best!"
Sujin was shocked. She had never received such a farewell. This farewell brought tears to her eyes. This was such a wonderful gift! The employees fully supported her and prayed for her success. They were also the first people who welcomed her and made her feel at home in the company. They are her first friends at this company. They are her comrades.
" I'll be back my comrades!!l" Sujin says as she bids a tearful farewell.
"GOODBYE FAIR MAIDEN!" They shout.
Sujin waves one last time, then turns to go start training with the VP.
⌠Maybe training with Jaeyoung Oppa won't be too bad….⌡Sujin reasons.
THREE HOURS LAAAATEEER...…..
⌠I've never been so bored in my life!!⌡Sujin thinks, as she tries to pay attention to her brother's lecture about the history of the company.
Sujin sighs inwardly. ⌠He's been going on for hours! I think this man could talk about one topic for the whole day and not get bored!⌡
Sujin isn't the only one suffering though. Some employees are also victim of Professor Jeong's boring lecture. Many in the room are desperately trying to stay awake. They pinch each other when they see that the one sitting next to them is starting to drift off. Whispered curses, as well as yelps of pain are heard throughout the presentation room. This is a life and death situation! Under no circumstance can the fall asleep! They must stay awake at all costs!
With a high IQ and a degree from the National University, Jaeyoung cannot be simply described with the word "smart". Jaeyoung has held many business lectures at the local university, and also wrote a book on entrepreneurship. Rather than smart, Jaeyoung is a genius! His smarts have benefited the company greatly! But, Jaeyoung's smarts aren't benefiting the employees and the future CEO who are victims of this very boring lecture!
⌠THIS IS NEVER GOING TO END!⌡Sujin and the employees yell in their heads.
And, Jaeyoung, continues his lecture. (Also known by the name torture.) He talks about how the company came to be, and all the previous owners of KI Group. Jaeyoung also goes into depth about all the products KI Group had developed.
At one point, an employee asks, "Is KI Group a Korean or Japanese company?"
Everybody turns to glare at the employee. They all know what happens if you ask a question in Professor Jeong's lecture. It GETS LONGER!! AND LONGER!! AND LONGER!! If you ask a question, it gives Jeong Jaeyoung another topic to talk about. Thus, lengthening the torture.
"NO, NONONO." Jaehyun says in his scholarly voice. "KI Group is a Korean company. (continues to talk, but is blocked out by many of the employees, including Sujin)."
AN HOUR LATER...….
⌠This man is insannnneeee.⌡Everyone reasons. ⌠There's no way he can be so happy talking about stuff like this.⌡
"And, that's why we are one of the most well developed and successful Korean companies." Jaeyoung says. "That's all for today's lecture! Be sure to use this knowledge I have given you! Enlighten the minds of others."
All the employees groan, Sujin included. ⌠He really thinks that we'll use this information?!??!?!? Is HE INSANE?⌡
They all question if Jaeyoung is sane, but everyone knows, that he is, in fact, insane. But, no one expected this to happen. Jaeyoung, lectured every single day. EVERY DAY! Sujin and the employees had to sit in the presentation room for FOUR HOURS EVERY DAY! EVERY DAY! FOR THREE DAYS STRAIGHT! It wasn't just torture. It was PURE, EVIL TORTURE. It was like Jaeyoung knew that they didn't want to sit through a lecture, so he taught. This all caused the employees to want to get back to work. Finally, one employee mustered the courage to ask Jaeyoung a question.
"Sir, we've been sitting in the lecture room for hours. We would rather work than listen to a lecture. . . . . . . . ."
"Well of course Mr.Kim, you may go back to work. I never said you had to come to the lecture." Jaeyoung says with a smile.
Everyone is fuming. ⌠You mean we were never required to sit through the lecture!?!?! UGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! THIS MAN IS REALLY SOMETHING!⌡
The employees gather their things and storm out. Sujin is at a loss for words. She's shocked he would hold lectures only to make the employees favor working over lectures. This was all so the employees would work!! Sujin still enraged, huffs, gathers her pens and papers, and leaves the presentation room. Well, tries to leave the presentation room.
"Nah-uh-uh. Hold it right there little sister. We still haven't covered the resposibilities of the CEO." Jaeyoung says. He walks up to Sujin and hands her a stapled packet of papers. "Read this tonight and have a two page essay written up by tomorrow."
He starts to walk out of the presentation room, but stops when he realizes he forgot to say something. "Love you little sister."
Then he exits with a grand flourish of his hand. POOF! HE GONE! He didn't even explain to Sujin what the prompt was?!?!? Sujin is furious now. FURIOUS! She throws the packet on the ground with great force (emphasis on the great force) and stomps on it. That brother of hers….. WAS GONNA GET IT!!!!!
⌠Ohh. You're gonna regret what you did to me Oppa.⌡Sujin thinks as she plans her revenge. Sujin lets out an evil laugh, whips out her laptop and attacks the keyboard. In a matter of minutes, a two paged essay is written. But, not on the responsibilities of the CEO of KI Group. On the paper there is one phrase repeated over and over again.
" I LOVE YOU TOO OPPA. JUST NOT AS MUCH AS I LOVE JAESEONG OPPA. ;);):)" And of course, Sujin didn't forget to put the troll face at the end of the paper. ;)
