บท 41: Knowing oneself

Black trees stretched towards the distance. From where they were, Ethan and Scarlett could also see the Dark Wall that blocked anyone inside from going out. 

They were at the top of a thick tree, and Scarlett was sitting on Ethan's shoulder in her fairy form. Her crystalline butterfly wings buzzed by his side at times, and she would pet his cheeks with her tiny hands when she felt like it.

Ethan took a deep breath of the musty air. Scarlett did the same from his shoulder, her tiny chest heaving. Both of them were now in ancient-looking dark Chinese robes. 

"For all clearing the air and stuff, I won't lie, I feel amazing this morning," Ethan said. 

Scarlett smiled. 

"Of course, you feel amazing. We successfully practiced the first level of Dao Partner Art," she pointed at the little black circular mark on her forehead, then at her waist, "and you also took my virginity."
