บท 42: Chapter 41: The Stalker is Revealed

"Come on Light, you're very nice to me... that's the least of it." Momo reciprocates and gets up from her chair with a little cheer, showing that she reciprocates what she feels about their little friendship.

The two of them left the cafeteria, while Light continued on his way to school, Momo stopped for a while on the sidewalk to look at her cell phone and review the notifications she had missed.

She walked slowly to a nearby wooden bench to sit down and take a look. After a few seconds, she noticed that Nana Belia, her younger sister, was sending her a single-view message... which surprised her since there was no comment above.

When she opened the photo, she realized that there were two small silhouettes far from the reach of her camera, coincidentally this photo was taken outside Kuoh Academy... and the weather was calm with dim sunlight.

Momo carefully tried to zoom in on the photo because if she clicked wrong, the single view would disappear and there would be no way to open it again.

"What the fuck?" With a tone of immense surprise, she ended up letting her cell phone fall out of her hands because of the paralysis she felt when she saw the photo.

Before the phone could fall into the street and break, she used her tail to pick it up without it crashing to the ground... avoiding a major impact and losing her evidence.

Her expression was blank and she hadn't expected her sister Nana to provoke her again after years of living together... all the petty bickering having ended since her childhood, until the moment she learned to talk to the plants around her and could understand their feelings.

Picking up the cell phone that was tied to her tail, she decided to go on her way silently, with hatred instilled in her heart... and with a few clicks, she blocked her sister from her phone's contacts.

"In the end, I'll have to deal with her and Yuki..." Momo muttered as her steps became heavier from the anger she felt at being tricked.

At the Kuoh academy, she walked through the corridors and tried to find the classroom where Nana was studying in her respective class.

Climbing the same staircase where Issei and his perverted friends were staying, they noticed Momo's strong presence walking and climbing every step of that staircase without saying a word.

"I'll tell you... Yuki is extremely lucky to have her close to him." Matsuda, in a proud tone, watched as the pink-haired girl quickly climbed each step in search of her sister.

Issei suddenly had a curious look on his face as he watched her climb the stairs that were already out of his reach.

"He's really lucky..." Issei whispers in a low tone, noticing in detail with her keen eyes her panties under her skirts as she climbs.

On the third floor, she arrives at Nana Belia's classroom, knocking lightly on the door. The teacher notices the door ringing and walks over to answer it.

"Hello, can I help you?"

The teacher asks Momo politely and she mentions that she needs to talk to Nana for a few minutes outside the classroom, and that she'll bring her in quickly when she's finished talking.

Nodding her head, accepting the offer, she calls Nana, who was sitting next to Kurosaki Mea, demanding that she leave the room for a moment to talk to her sister who was at the door.

"It's... better to take her somewhere far away from here." Nana reflected as she observed the cold gaze of her sister standing in the doorway.

Her eyes were so piercing that as Nana took steps towards her, a fear settled in her heart... knowing that her message had been read carefully.

The teacher bade them both farewell, and Kurosaki stood with a puzzled expression watching the door as to why Momo had called Nana so suddenly.

"Answer me one thing, why the fuck are you watching me?" In a loud tone, she showed Nana the picture she had taken herself when she was standing next to Light the day before.

"You were betraying Yuki's trust, that was never your image." Lala snapped back at her sister, pointing out that she was never one to stand by someone who had hurt someone she cared deeply about.

Momo squeezed the cell phone in her hand, the glow of the screen still displaying the incriminating photo. She took a step forward, reducing the distance between them even further. "And you think following me out of school, taking hidden photos is the best way to do it? And what's worse, now you're trying to accuse me of treason against Yuki-san without even knowing what's going on... I was just talking to Light civilly!"

Nana stepped back a little, but her expression hardened. "And what would you have me think, Momo? You were with someone you shouldn't even know that well! I know what Light Yagami did, what he's capable of. How can you trust him?!"

"You don't know anything about what happened," Momo retorted, her voice low but charged with intensity. "You only see what you want to see, just as you did when we were little. And now, because of that, you're putting everything at risk. It's not just about me or you. There are things you don't understand and that I can't explain right now."

"Then explain!" shouted Nana, her voice shaking with both anger and fear. "I'm your sister, Momo! How do you expect me to keep quiet while you get involved with a dangerous person inside this academy?!"

Momo closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath to try to control her emotions. When she opened them again, there was a mixture of pain and determination in her gaze. "I'm doing this for a reason, Nana. It's not easy for me, but it's necessary. If you really trust me, do what I tell you carefully."

Nana shook her head, the internal conflict evident on her face. "Do you think this is about trust? It's not just that, it's about protecting you. About not letting you get hurt or do something you'll soon regret."

For a moment, silence fell between the two. Only the distant sound of voices in the classroom and footsteps in the corridor broke the tension.

Momo finally put down her cell phone, her expression softening slightly. "I won't get hurt, I know what I'm doing... and what must be done until the end."

Nana remained motionless, her arms crossed in an attempt to protect herself emotionally. Finally, she let out a heavy sigh. "I just want you to be honest with me. Is that too much to ask?"

Momo hesitated, looking at the floor for a moment before facing her sister again. "I can't tell you everything right now. But I promise that, when the time is right, you'll be the first to know."

The two hugged for a moment, Momo ending up doing it to try and calm her heart, which was exuding a bad feeling.

"I just wanted to be the only one in your life, Yuki." Momo reflected in a sad tone in her mind, which remained in an enormous blackness.
