บท 2: Chapter-2 Back Again
When the ward door opened, a woman with pale skin, smooth silver hair tied in a ponytail, and sapphire eyes looking toward Feng while her curves were on full display in her tight black jeans and a white turtleneck top.
She kept staring at Feng, not daring to blink. She'd dreamed of this moment so many times that she couldn't believe it was real.
" Long time no see, aunt Li. " Feng broke the silence in the room with a small smile.
" S-Shen." Jia, unable to control herself, rushed in and jumped on Feng 's body, knocking him back to the bed with her body while tightly hugging him with her hands.
She didn't say a word, just continued hugging him, with tears streaming down her cheeks. Feng wanted to cry as well, seeing her for the first time after 300 years apart, but
" Aunt I.. c-can't… breathe." Feng's face had turned pale due to a lack of oxygen.
Jia quickly let go of her nephew's body, allowing him to finally breathe.
He took a few deep breaths before his face had some colour back.
'How is she so strong?' This kind of strength shouldn't be possible for a normal human; they weren't living in an anime world where it was.
" I'm sorry… "
" It's ok, but please be careful next time; I'm a patient here."
" Yue, could you please give us some space?" He wanted to spend some alone time with her aunt.
" O-Ok." She wanted to talk to him more, but reluctantly agreed and walked out of the room.
"What happened to you, aunt?" Feng became very serious. Because of their reunion, he had ignored the scar on her right eye, but he couldn't ignore it any longer.
"Sigh, Feng, a lot has happened since your coma; the earth you knew before no longer exists."
'Huh?.' He knew his aunt was telling the truth because she was his aunt, but it was difficult for him to accept it.
" Allow me to explain, a few days after you went into a coma--"
The sun started to set, and after that conversation with her aunt, he couldn't help but agree with her.
' So according to my aunt, three years ago, a meteor shower occurred all over the globe, turning the world upside down. What was even more shocking was that on the day of the incident, everyone received the same notification.
[The Earth has been chosen as the next potential planet.]
Following that heinous day, governments from around the world convened at the United Nations for an emergency meeting.
The meeting's outcomes were kept private, but each leader only gave a simple speech stating that they would investigate the phenomenon.
The general public didn't have to wait long, as multiple videos and photos of a meteor transforming its surroundings went viral a few days later, but they were quickly taken down by the government, or at least they tried because some people had already saved and reuploaded them.
Heck, some famous metuber daredevils even uploaded videos of them sneaking into a meteor site.
In one of those videos uploaded, a young man with sandy blond hair, bright blue eyes, and a shredded physique was talking to the camera.
"Hello guys, welcome back to another video, my name is Logon Baul, and the guy behind the camera, Mike, gave me a dare to enter the meteor site. Do you think I was foolish enough to accept it? Sh* Did I just call myself dumb? "
The video began in a car with an introduction, followed by some jokes. As the video progressed, they explained that they had discovered an unprotected meteor site and decided to visit it. In the next scene, they were standing in the forest, with a milky white dome in front of them.
" Hey Logon, I think we shouldn't do it."
" Pus*y, we have come so far, then we have to at least show our subscribers the inside of it."
" It's not that dude, I have a bad feeling about it."
" Don't worry, nothing will happen." Logon tried to reassure him, but Mike remained skeptical; in the end, both agreed to go there for a minute. The video then showed them entering the dome, but as they did so, the video went black.
In the next scene, it was logon baul sitting in a chair alongside Mike.
Then they started talking about how their camera had stopped working as they entered the dome, and how they saw a dog-like monster inside. According to their description, the dog had the same size as a wolf with some of his bones exposed. The video then concluded with them stating that they had already informed the authorities about the dome and pleading not to repeat their actions.
As the video was uploaded, the online community went bonkers. Just after an hour of upload it was already trending on metube.
Short clips of the video were spread across multiple platforms, even some news outlets covered the video, all of the sudden everyone's eyes were on this video.
The majority of the tweets on sparrow were tagged with #logon baul video.
[I'm_your_lost_brother : guys do you think it's true or fake?, last time he said that he'll develop a fun game but one we got were stock images.]
[CEO_of_Your_company: I think it's suspicious at least, the government hasn't given any information about them, but still I can't trust him, last time I believed in him he gave me a debt of 50k dollars.]
[Monster_among_men: hahahhaha, finally my soldiers have arrived, now this world will know my name as I declare war against you.]
[I'm_sassy_Karen: ignore the guy above me. @CEO_of_Your_company, I understand your pain, that guy is a bloody scammer. Fuc*er said he'd turn a new leaf after that Japan incident, looks like I need to call my friends.]
[Milfs_for_life: I believe that he is telling the truth. (don't cancel me) Hear me out first, I believe he has so much money why would he try to scam us again for a video.]
[I'm_your_daddy: @Milf_for_life, last time that Mike dude said the same line and the result was disastrous, now that you have said that again, there's a 99.99% chance he is lying.]
The comments on the video were skeptical at best, but within a few days, multiple videos of people discovering unprotected sites with similar narratives appeared.
After seeing multiple such videos the general public began to frenzy, buying and looting food, water, and other necessities to hoard them as much as possible due to the fear of an unknown future.
Soon after, the situation deteriorated for the next month, the crime rate skyrocketed around the world, and people with unnatural strength began to emerge. Every country's government declared martial law, even involving the military to contain the situation.
To add salt to the wound, protests began to spring up all over the world, with people demanding answers about the meteor. The government tried everything they could, but as more people joined, it quickly became a movement with millions of people behind it.
The government had no choice but to give in to the pressure. They made the decision to hold a press conference. They answered all of the questions during the conference. According to the government, the official name for the meteor site was 'dungeon', and the presence of monsters inside was also confirmed. They also confirmed the rumour about superhumans, but they were calling them ' players' and they disclosed the presence of the new energy source, which they called 'Mana'.
But the most shocking thing was that when the government revealed about the Gaia system to the world, it shook the public to its core. The conference ended with the government announcing the formation of the World Player Association.
Feng, who was deeply invested in the video, awoke from a sudden chill on his back.
When he turned around, he saw his aunt staring at him angrily.
"Why aren't you sleeping?" She began to slowly walk toward him.
" Aunt wait… Let's talk first. See, the moon looks good, why don't we go for a walk?" He began to randomly blabber stuff, but still nothing worked as his aunt took him in a headlock.
After a while she finally let go off him
"Are you going to sleep?"
"Only if you agree to sleep with me."
" Huh?" Jia couldn't react for a split second.
" What's up with the reaction? Did you forget how you used to force me to sleep with you when I was a child?"
" Hey! Hey! Don't say it like that or people will misunderstand it."
"Let them if they misunderstood. "First, tell me if you're going to sleep or not."
" Sigh, okay."

" Hey Logon, why do you look so off today." asked Mike
" Nothing, just excited for the new fun game I'm gonna release." He had been working on the projects for months and now it was almost ready.
" Why do you keep saying that word 'Game'?
Cause it's a game, actually it's a really fun game which makes you money." He was really excited to talk about his new project.
Then Logon gave an overview of the game, which was followed up by Mike's questions.
" So last question, how do we the general public download your ' fun game.' "
" All you gotta do is go to ' I'm Cultivating in Modern World ' and give your power stone, then you have pre-registered the game."
