บท 23: The matchups for the Tournament
"Are you okay?" Dai said as he extended his hands towards Shen.
"Huh. Where am I?" Shen asked.
The soul of Kami that was possessing his body had already left after Dai knocked Shen out of the ring.
"Don't worry about it. It was a good fight." Dai said to Shen.
"That power. Amazing." Goku said.
"Aren't you scared? I don't think it is the kind of power that we can beat if he has to face it head-on." Tien said to Goku.
"It is likely that he cannot use that kind of power for an extensive amount of time. Right?" Krillin said as he tried to convince himself that he might still have a chance.
"It is just a trick. I don't need to overpower him to beat him. My new special move is specifically created to knock down my enemies out of the ring instead of overpowering them." Yamcha said to Krillin.
"Everyone has gotten strong, I think this is going to be more fun than even the last tournament," Goku said as he smiled.
"Jerk," the girl in the blue Chinese dress said as she looked at Goku and his friends from afar.

A few minutes later,
"Since all the eight finalists are decided we will proceed with drawing lottery to decide the match-ups." the announcement said as all the eight finalists gathered around him.
"We will proceed with a random selection of opponents." the announcer said as he gave a box that contained 8 numbers to one of the participants.
"Hey. How are you doing?" Krillin said as he greeted the announcer.
"Wahhhhh. Ghost." the announcer yelled out in fear as he started praying.
"I am not a ghost. I was only resurrected." Krillin said as he explained the situation.
"Really? Thank god." the announcer said as he was able to calm himself down after a minute of panicking.
"No 3," Krillin said as the announcer wrote his name down in the number 3 bracket.
"Bad luck for you," Piccolo said as he revealed the number that he pulled out which was also the number 3.
"We will see about that," Krillin replied still not knowing the true identity of Piccolo who participated under the name of Ma Junior.
"The second match? Ahh. I want to go first." Goku said as he showed the number 2 to the announcer.
"Finally. I will beat you up, you liar." the girl in the blue Chinese dress said as she ended up in the same bracket as Goku.
Goku just looked back at the girl not knowing what he had done to her.
"Ahhh. I have a bad feeling about this." Yamcha realized that although Goku was out of the lottery Dai and Tien's matchups still had not been announced yet.
"Here goes nothing," Yamcha said as he pulled out a number and showed the number that he had drawn to the announcer which is number four.
"I wanted Goku, Tien or the green guy. But you will do." Dai said as he showed the number four that he was holding in his hand.
He was also giving out a small smirk on his face at Yamcha.
"That means." Tien looked at the half human half robot man in the pink Chinese dress. Only two participants are left so he automatically found out the person that he was going to go up against.
"I have my opportunity to kill both of you and Son Goku." the robot man said as he smiled at Tien.
"Bring it on. I will show you how much I have grown since you last saw me." Tien said to the robot man called Tao PaiPai.
Tao PaiPai was an enemy of Goku and the former master of Tien Shinhan and Chaiotzu. Tien Shinhen left the school after Tao PaiPai's seemingly death at the hand of Son Goku because of the disagreement between him and Tao PaiPai's brother.
Tao PaiPai survived and wanted to kill Goku so he got cybernetic enhancements with the help of some people who wanted to kill Goku. Probably the remaining soldiers and scientists of the army that Goku destroyed a few years ago.
When he found out that Tien Shinhan and left his school and was now allies with Goku he was betrayed and wanted to kill both Goku and Tien.
And now he was finally given a chance and he was not planning to waste it.
