บท 1: Chapter 1- System

At night, light could still be seen in the library of Cocoyasi Village Inside there was a 17-year-old black man reading a thick books.

The man had dreadlocks and dark circles under his almost black eyes due to the lack of sleep. His name was Baki.

If Baki were a normal 17-year-old, he would have suffered a lot with his mother dead and with his father Being a pirate.

Compared to others his age, Baki wasn't exactly normal because he belonged to a rare group of people that can retain memories from before they were born, in other words, memories of their past lives.

Baki knew the taste of death and didn't want to taste it again, his previous life was a life without too many difficulties, but in the end, he died painfully.

he knew that his present life is the opposite of his past life, therefore, he refused to be weak and ending up dying again, so he was extremely hard working since birth.

But his strength wasn't about strengthening his body, but about gaining influence trough Money.

Even though he had his previous world memories, they couldn't influence him to the point of becoming his previous life's replica. he doesn't feel the lust, greed, laziness, and cowardness that he felt on his previous life.

Baki's dream of gaining power and influence trough money was utterly destroyed when he nearly got killed by Arlongs crew, if it wasn't for an certain orange haired girl.

One day, while he was reading a book, he found out about the One Piece, It is the name the world gave to all the treasure gained by the Pirate King Gol D. Roger.

Baki was shocked when he read it. This confirmed that he was In the world of one piece.

Atleast this explains those fish looking peaple.

[Conditions are fulfilled, System is now unlocked.]

[System is launching. Please wait.]

At that moment, a progress bar appeared in his mind. After two minutes, it was complete.

[Do you want to start the System's tutorial?]

Baki read enough fanfics In his previous world to know what is hapening.

"I want!"

However, the system didn't react, and he tried again.

"I want to start the tutorial!"

The system remained unchanged. Baki stopped speaking as he noticed that it was already very dark, and no one else was in the library.

He was lucky because if someone were there, he would be scolded, and more importantly, the system's existence could have been revealed to others, or at least they could have thought that there was something weird in his head.

He was sure that the System was very precious, enough to awaken the greed of others. He firmly believed that if the Last Wish System's existence were made public, he would forever chased by the world government.

He swore in his mind that he wouldn't make a mistake like that again, the System needed to remain as his most valuable secret. Baki needed to ensure ways to hide it from others, or he would suffer.

....

Inside his room, Baki held his breath while looking at a the blue screen in front him.

He began to grow a bit excited. No one hated being having a system.

When Baki hits the Enter key on the screen, several windows popped up.

> The Gamer body and The Gamer Mind

>????

—Will be unlocked when the main story completes.

...

"... Points are really nice."

As a gamer, Baki was well aware of the importance of Points. An average adult had 1.5 points in each stat.

Furthermore, this world didn't have a concept like leveling-up. So 'Points', which could raise one's desired stats, were impossible to find.

"...What's up with the three question marks?"

The next line to catch Baki's attention was obviously the suspicious question marks.

===

>???

—Will be unlocked when the main story completes.

===

Perhaps, this was the key to going back. Even if it wasn't, it was the only clue I had.

The problem was that I didn't know when the main story would end.

One thought led to another.

"First, I had to find a way to go back home. To achieve that, I need power or authority. To achieve power or authority, I need something called 'SP'. To obtain SP, I need to get involved in the storyline. To do that, I need to get stand out and get stronger."

With a plan decided, Baki moves on to the next thing.

{First person viewpoint}

"How should I spend these 10 priceless Points?"

Since invariable stats were 'invariable', I shouldn't be able to change them. In that case, I have to pick from variable stats.

However...

I might be able to modify invariable stats.

"... Should I exchange them for SP?"

Points could be exchanged with SP. Perhaps, it was possible to change invariable stats using SP.

But before making an irreversible mistake, I decided to give it a test. Thankfully, I had 64 SP, so I tried changing perseverance stat from 5.010 to 5.500.

[Using 64 SP, you modified an invariable stat.]

[You do not have enough SP. The value will be adjusted. Perseverance was changed to 5.060.]

"It worked?"

My eyes widened. If this worked, what I should do next was obvious. I had to convert my Points into SP and invest in invariable stats.

The question was which stat to choose...

Intelligence. Perseverance. Luck. Charm.

"Perseverance should be good."

In my current situation, training was key. But with my old mindset, I didn't even want to do 10 push-ups.

Without hesitating any longer, I used 10 Points to gain 10,000 SP.

Using all 10,000 SP, I increased Perseverance to its maximum.

What I wanted was [ Perseverance— 10/10]

[You do not have enough SP. The value will be adjusted.]

The screen rejected my ridiculous wish and returned a reasonable compromise.

[Luck — 9.100]

"9.1 is the highest I can go, huh."

Since 9 was the limit for humans, 9.1 was extremely high.

But I didn't hit 'save' and canceled the modification.

Though it would take a bit longer, there was a more efficient method.

[ Perseverance— 6.4/10]

First I raised my Perseverance from 6.3 to 6.4 and saved. Next, to 6.5. Next, to 6.6, 6.7, 6.8... Doing this repeatedly...

[Your Perseverance stat increases by 0.05!]

...

...

[ Perseverance— 9.100/10]

With this method, I got my Perseverance stat to reach 9.1 with just 9000 SP. I had saved 1000 SP.
