"Since you're awake, I won't bother you anymore. Your phone is out of battery, so I had to bring you to the hotel. Get some rest." Cherish Turner paused before adding, "Or, you can use the hotel phone to call your fiancée and let her take care of you. I'll be leaving now."
"Wait, Cherish. I know you still care about me. Otherwise, why would you stay to look after me?" As he spoke, Daniel Peacock threw off the blanket and rushed over to hug Cherish, his bare feet on the floor.
He regretted it; he didn't want to lose her!
"Daniel, don't get the wrong idea. I have no romantic feelings for you anymore. I came here only because the bartender called me after you got drunk. I didn't really want to come, but we do know each other after all."
She thought to herself: Daniel, I am not like you - heartless and ungrateful.
But even then, our relationship can only go this far.
