บท 40: Der Bundeskanzler

"He's not back yet," Mineah murmured as she stepped out onto the main deck to breathe some fresh air.

Another day had gone by without Nikolai, leaving her feeling increasingly uneasy. After all, she needed to make him fall for her, but how was that possible when their paths crossed so infrequently? Two nights and three days had elapsed without a single conversation between them.

Despite this, everything wasn't completely negative. Last night she had slept soundly, having been too exhausted to probe into Rosela's thoughts. That woman was certainly someone to be cautious of—fixated on Nikolai and willing to do whatever it took to remove her from the picture.

Mineah sighed as she gazed at the overcast sky. She hadn't yet entered Valcrez territory, and she already seemed to have an adversary. At times like these, she was thankful for the advantage her unique eyes provided.

"Good morning, Your Majesty. I trust you slept well," Chancellor Abel said, greeting her with a beaming smile.
