When does a story end?

It never ends

Then how does a dead person's story continue?

If they had children or taught someone something, their story continues. if they left a trace of their existence, no matter how small, it continues.

Then do Fairytales end?

They do, in the form of 'happy endings' though happiness is always fleeing

What is the point of life?

The point of life is how you spend it before Death. No matter what, the goal of all life is death. But the point of life is how you spend your time alive and ultimately what traces of your existence remain after death.

Then what of immortals ability to never die?

Nothing is immortal. Is a star like the sun immortal? no, it has a lifespan like you, like me. Even something none existential like space, or the universe. All things die
