Skye seated at a bar with a glass of wine in hand as he intended to drink away the pain and damage done to his pride. He wanted to forget what happened, but no matter how much he drank, nothing changed. The facts remained the same, all that he lost a clear sight.
His driver and bodyguard sat at a corner watching him to make sure he didn't do anything to harm himself. Their boss hadn't been the same since the moment he proposed the engagement with the Anders and it fit worse after the wedding. It made them believe that the woman was indeed a jinx but they never dared to say it knowing she was now their madam. Skye never blamed her so they had no right to do so either.
"Give me another glass," Skye said to the bartender who looked at him as if contemplating whether to give him another or not.
"Don't you think you've had enough, Sir?" The bartender asked. This man looked like he was some big shot so he wondered why he would come to a place like theirs rather than some high end establishment where people like him liked to go.
"Just one more and I'll leave," Skye replied. His words were surprisingly still audible and clear and this was what made the bartender pour out another glass for him. If he could still think as clearly then he must know his limits.
But before he could hand over the glass to Skye, his bodyguards came and stopped him while the driver had already gone to have the car ready to leave.
"I think that is enough, Sir. Madam would be very pleased to see you like this," one of the two body guards said. Skye looked at the hand on his shoulder and then at the wine that was still in the waiter's hand.
"It's just one more shot, you can take me back once it's empty," he reached his hand to take the glass but the bodyguards gave a look at the waiter who stepped back with the drink. "Do you think the same?"
"I am sorry, Sir. But you have had quite a lot to drink already," Although it was his job to sell and make money for the bar, he didn't want to encourage drinking until you lost your mind. He might be young but he never fancied that kind of life.
"Let us take you home, Sir," the other bodyguard said and Skye sighed tiredly. He was exhausted both physically and mentally. They wouldn't even allow him to drink when he wanted to. "If you must drink, there are enough wine collections at home to keep you company," he suggested but Skye sighed again.
He rose to his feet but staggered a bit and the bodyguards went to hold him on both sides. They paid the bartender and then left with Skye. "You Will alright, Sir," the man on his right said but Skye chuckled.
"Nothing will be alright. Nyx must think I am too weak if she sees me like this," the bodyguards exchanged glances but said nothing as they had no idea what he was talking about. "I can walk. You can relate to me."
"Are you certain, Sir?" They asked.
"Yes, release me,"
They looked at each other and then nodded their heads. They let go of him and walked beside him so as to make sure he didn't fall over. His steps were slow and unbalanced but he carried himself well enough.

A knock on the door had Nyx looking up from the computer in front of her. "Come in," she said and took off the glasses that she wore while working. Putting them back into their case, she intertwined her fingers and waited for the person behind the door.
"Sorry to bother you, Ma'am, but there is a lady here who claims to be an acquaintance of yours," Her Assistant informed her. A crease appeared between hee brows as she had very few acquaintances in the city and the world at large.
"Did she say what her name is?" Nyx inquired as she thought it could be Beth. She would ask them to send her back if she was truly the one as she was not in the mood to entertain that woman.
"Yes, Ma'am, she said her name is Lyra Succubus. Quite an odd name. Although she dressed the part," the Assistant uttered her thought to the weird name the woman had given herself.
"Another devil?" Nyx muttered under her breath. No one in their right minds would bear such a name. But then she couldn't be certain that shebwas devil. The only way she could be certain if she met the woman. "Let her in Mia, but do not stray far. I might have you see her out sooner than later."
"Yes, Ma'am," the Assistant, Mia replied and then left to let the woman in. In a few minutes, Mia was back in the office with a woman behind her. "I have brought her Ma'am."
"Thank you, Mia. You may be excused," Nyx instructed and Mia nodded before leaving to two women alone inside the office. Nyx looked at the woman, she had fiery red hair and and Amber eyes. Dressed in a strapless black dress that barely covered below her hips, Her chest was likewise exposed. She had on her feet a pair of black stilettos, five or six inches. Her makeup was light but the seductive allure was as well accomplished. She was a walking seduction.
"How may I help you, Miss Lyra?" Nyx asked. She was still seated as she didn't consider them acquainted enough for any form of formalities.
Lyra smiled. Her smile was so seductive that even Nyx, who was a woman like her, was entranced by it. "I must say, you lack hospitality, Mrs Morgan," she uttered. Her voice was velvety, like a soothing Melody.
Nyx shook her head to dispel the thoughts of this woman in her mind.
"Do not lust for me, Nyx," Lyra said and Nyx frowned and she laughed. "It is obvious from the way you look at me. I am surprised you are still able to sit still."
