Jor-El's face remained identical to his appearance on Krypton – sharp, chiseled features radiating a powerful sense of justice. His eyes perpetually held a gaze filled with compassion and righteousness. Anyone who saw him would sense his unwavering determination, strength, and commitment to justice, concluding that he was a man of integrity.
This extremely deceptive exterior had dragged all of Krypton into the abyss.
H'el activated his X-ray vision and microscopic vision to examine Jor-El closely. Within his view, he saw a colossal computer system constructed by densely woven proton-carving circuits that resembled a humanoid form.
"Has he modified my invention?" H'el thought to himself. Even he couldn't help but be amazed by the vast scope of these alterations.
Jor-El, truly deserving of being Krypton's foremost scientist, had extended his initial idea into the creation of powerful humanoid robots. It was clear that his consciousness had also been digitized, navigating through the vast expanse of electronic information, existing as data.
In this moment, it felt as if the immense distance of millions of light-years had been bridged, bringing father and son together once more.
Jor-El's expression was uncertain, and his deep gaze swept past the pitiful Superman, settling on H'el. Memories of his time on Krypton with H'el welled up within him. He genuinely regarded H'el as his son, and that sentiment was unmistakable, filled with true emotions.
No one knew that on the night he sent H'el into space, Jor-El had locked himself in the meditation chamber, crying bitterly throughout the entire night.
The emotions of their past father-son relationship, resurfacing in his heart, made his eyes appear moist, if this robotic body had tear ducts.
"H'el, release him. Our grievances should not harm innocent lives," Jor-El spoke with eyes that carried traces of reminiscence.
H'el let out a soft sigh, loosening his grip slightly on Superman's neck. The unconscious Superman let out a pained moan, causing Jor-El's eyes to tremble slightly.
Superman's condition was truly pitiable.
Superman's body had already been severely injured by H'el and weakened using Kryptonite by Batman. The red solar radiation prevented his genetic flesh from recovering, leaving him in a wretched state with white ribs protruding from his chest, resembling a skeletal figure.
Surviving this ordeal was a testament to the tenacity of Kryptonian genetics.
"Innocent? His body contains everything about Krypton—the Codex of Life. He's your biological son, yet you call him innocent?" H'el sneered, gripping Superman's neck and lifting him higher. "Aren't you planning to let him rebuild Krypton?"
Jor-El opened his mouth but remained silent.
He couldn't fathom how H'el had discovered that Superman was his son. Initially, his intention had been to bring his son to the distant Earth to rebuild Krypton. However, as he observed his son's growth and learned more about Earth's reality, he decided to let his son's destiny unfold, no longer forcing the restoration of Krypton.
After all, attempting to restore another Krypton would likely yield the same despairing outcome.
He resolved to let his son live happily and become the person he wanted to be, silently upholding his fatherly love.
"Let that desolate Krypton become a thing of the past," Jor-El spoke after a brief silence.
"A desolate Krypton? My dear father, tell me why you prevented me from saving Krypton, and why you stopped General Zod from doing so," H'el retorted.
"That's enough, H'el. Both you and Zod were nothing more than ambitious, delusional egomaniacs. You simply wanted to impose your ruthless rule on the irredeemable Krypton," Jor-El scolded sternly.
"And have you saved Krypton since then?" H'el asked.
Jor-El's face remained stoic as he selectively replied, "The upper echelons of Krypton had become corrupt. My application for geocore research was denied…"
H'el's sinister grin faded, and he tossed Superman aside with indifference. He approached Jor-El, his black cloak billowing behind him, and his expression became devoid of emotion as he advanced towards Jor-El, the air in the Fortress of Solitude growing as heavy as lead. His imposing presence weighed down the fortress, and his advance seemed otherworldly.
Jor-El kept a vigilant eye on him, his gaze filled with constantly calculating data arcs.
With a resounding boom, H'el disappeared from Jor-El's line of sight. In the midst of Jor-El's supercomputer-like calculations, H'el instantly reappeared before him, delivering a powerful punch to Jor-El's chest.
Jor-El's chest suddenly displayed a bright proton protective absorption barrier. However, H'el's fist punched through the barrier without hesitation, shattering it like a fragile young girl. Then, his fist directly pierced Jor-El's chest, its immense force breaking through every proton-coupled electron field generated by his proton calculations, leaving behind sparking electrical arcs.
A powerful bio-magnetic field emanated from H'el's body, restraining Jor-El's android-like body.
H'el had invented proton computers himself, so he was well aware of the tremendous capabilities these machines possessed. Yet, he also understood the significant limitations of the android-like bodies formed by these proton-assist units.
With a hiss, H'el withdrew his fist from Jor-El's android-like chest, the circuits within it damaged by the electromagnetic field.
The colossal bio-magnetic field disrupted the proton computer's circuitry operations, and Jor-El, bewildered, collapsed in front of H'el.
With a resounding thud, H'el stepped on Jor-El's head, mercilessly looking down. "Does the decay of Krypton's upper echelons mean the end of the entire planet?"
"I never thought so!" Jor-El, attacked and unable to calculate or stop H'el's assault, stared with bewildered eyes, struggling to respond.
"Stealing the Codex of Life, violating Krypton's laws of natural reproduction, and infusing Krypton's vital Codex into your son's body, then allowing him to escape Krypton alone—weren't all these your actions?" H'el looked down mercilessly.
He never believed that physical attacks from beings with power at the corporeal level would make Jor-El surrender. Jor-El always appeared morally righteous, crafting a well-constructed logic that convinced himself.
Like an unyielding internet troll, believing more strongly in absolutes, the less one reads, and the more they read, the more they believe their absolutes can stand up to self-logic.
"I did it to preserve Krypton!" Jor-El insisted, even as H'el had him pinned underfoot, his unwavering sense of righteousness never faltering, perpetually asserting his correctness and justice.
H'el, no matter how he looked at it, appeared as the antagonist.
"To preserve Krypton, why not use the anti-matter engine to save the innocent civilians of Krypton?" Jor-El was left speechless on the spot, unable to produce any words of righteousness.
