บท 9: What He Should Do

The last thing he remembered, was dueling against Erica his love, in what was supposed to be their last battle In the world of LORDS.

He was running toward her, ready to unleash an attack when the flash came from below, the flash caused from the circle that appeared out of nowhere.

The light that emanated from the circle was far too bright for Sango to continue keeping his eyes open, and so, he was forced to temporarily keep them closed.

The brightness had deemed down a little, and Sango was now free to open his eyes.

When he did, he saw that his surroundings had changed a lot compared to where he was earlier.

His first thought, was that he has been put in an illusion type skill or spell casted by Erica, but the blood he saw on Getha's face, and the one from her shoulder, coupled with the dead bodies he was surrounded by, told him that it wasn't an illusion, nor was he still in the game.

LORDS was a very successful virtual game, with actions similar to how a fantasy world would be like. But even still, there were a few things that differentiated it from being a real fantasy world like.

In the world of LORDS, there was no such a thing as blood, or wound marks, none of those were present.

It was a different thing for character customization to have wound marks on certain areas of their bodies as a form of fashion sense, but wound marks caused from being stabbed or burnt was never present in LORDS.

The one in front of him, not only had stab wounds, but was also covered in blood.

When Sango looked around him, he saw the rest of the bodies, and also saw the statue that was similar to how his game character looked, except for the robust part.

All this, made him question what was going on, and the only one capable of giving him a reply, is the Goblin child that was in front of him.

He made saving her life the first priority by taking her away from the fire that was burning around them.

When he got outside the cave, he perceived the smell in the air mostly composed of the smoke emitting from the fire.

Sango ate the grass as a way to confirm his theory, and when his taste buds kicked in, it assured him that he was in no illusion, and everything was in fact real.

The first thing that was clear to him, is that somehow, he is no longer in the game, but in another world as his game character.

Sango was not able to use the language the Goblin was speaking to know if he was on earth, or in a world different from earth, because when the Goblin spoke, the words were automatically translated for him with the effect of his God hood class that allows him to understand all languages without even trying to.

She went on her kneels and begged him for revenge while ignoring the wound that was on her shoulder, and seemingly forgetting that she might die from it at any moment.

It made Sango question what she could have gone through to be so blinded by the desire for revenge.

He got closer to her, and asked if she felt pain so he can be one hundred percent sure that he was not in a game, but in a real world.

The expression the Goblin made after being asked if she felt pain was evident that Sango was truly in a real world. A world inhabited by monsters that were in a game, and also somehow ended up in this new world as his game character.

Being reminded of the pain by Sango, had Getha squeezing her face in agony, and her body collapsing to the ground in defeat.

"hmm....."

Sango could see that the Goblin was dying, and if left further alone, she would definitely end up dead.

He could save her, but then again, he has no need for her anymore as he has on his own, confirmed that he is no longer in the game from the facts presented to him.

He got up, and stood in front of the unconscious Getha with slow breathing that could go out any moment from now.

Sango kept on looking at her while still deep in thought on what he should do.

There are a lot of evidence on ground, and not a single one of them could convince Sango that the Goblin child is crime free.

For one, the cave he had just come out from, had a lot of Goblins like her dead on the ground.

From his observation on their body, he noticed that they were not killed by the heat from the fire. What killed them, is the sword marks on their bodies.

There is hardly anything he knows about this world, does not mean he knows nothing at all.

If all Goblins were killed by a sword slash, with traces that shows that the marks were gotten from different opponents. If he also takes into consideration how gruesome the Goblins were killed, with the burning their dead bodies along, shows that whoever did it, holds a grudge toward the Goblin.

Sango does not think it is a good idea to interfere in grudges between two different people, at least not when he does not know the full story.

There is also something else that bothered him about the state of the Goblins, and an idea that surged up in his head on how the Goblins could have ended up like that.

For some reasons unknown, in the cave where the Goblins were killed in, there is a statue of him in there, a statue that almost captures how he truly looks, and that bothered him greatly.

He has never met this group of Goblins before. But somehow, they seem to have a statue of him in their home.

It was easy for him to know that the cage belonged to the Goblins because they were killed inside of it, raided actually.

Another thing that bothered him, is that he never told the Goblin child about his title or class, yet she referred to him by it, begging him for strength.

To Sango, none of this adds up or made any sense to him. In a world he has just arrived in, he already has those who knows about his identity.

Sango wants to know the how and the why, and especially, the where he currently is in.

There is no claim that this dying Goblin would have all the answers he seeks, but perhaps some of it could known to her.
