บท 4: Sparring 2
In the center of the field, Gareth who was wearing light armor stood with an axe in his hand.
On the other side, Kelvin decided to use three different weapons; a crossbow hung on his back, a dagger on his waist and a large sword that he swung with both hands.
All these weapons were of course Familia's that he borrowed.
Since Kelvin could see the skeptical gazes of Loki and the other three executives, he decided to show off a bit by directly using the three weapons in this Sparring.
"Then, I'll give the signal. The fight is over when one of you is injured, loses a weapon or surrenders. Do you understand?"
Finn stood in the center, a little further back as he began to explain the rules.
""Mn.""
"Good! Then, begin!"
When Finn's signal fell, Gareth raised his axe, lunging straight ahead.
Meanwhile, Kelvin swung his sword when he saw Gareth moving towards him.
Previously, Gareth said that he wanted to Spar with Kelvin, but whether he forgot or not, but he just realized that his decision might have been too rash, especially when he saw Kelvin who was wearing an eye patch having to parry all his attacks.
Even so, the thing that surprised Gareth was that Kelvin seemed to be able to see his movements even though he was blind, making him feel admiration for the teenager in front of him right now.
"You're good too, kid ...."
Gareth smiled wryly. In fact, for him to be able to fight blind was impossible. But, the current Kelvin could keep up with him even though he couldn't see with his eyes.
Although Gareth didn't bring out his full strength, but he also appreciated Kelvin's strength.

Kelvin swung his sword, taking distance from Gareth as he stored his sword into its sheath.
Now, he turned to the arrow on his back. Withdrawing the arrow and placing it between his bowstring.
"Are you sure you want to use an arrow? That's going to hurt you!"
Seeing Kelvin change his weapon in the middle of battle, Gareth felt Kelvin was making a stupid decision. To him, using arrows was meaningless if you didn't know the enemy's position. On the other hand, he could draw a distance to make it difficult for him to release the arrow.
"I know. But, I'm pretty confident in my archery skills."

Seeing Gareth approaching, Kelvin quickly drew his bow and released his arrow into the air vertically. After doing so, he took a step backward while his hand did not stop to release another arrow forward, which was shown to attack Gareth.

Gareth swung his axe, deflecting the arrow and making it break into two pieces.
At the same time, he was about to narrow the distance between them, but realized something was wrong with the grin on Kelvin's face.
Immediately, an arrow descended from the air and hit his arm.
"Kuhk!"
Gareth winced slightly, luckily the arrow didn't pierce his skin and only scratched the outside.
"Unbelievable, I didn't expect that to come."
"It's a common thing if you ask me."
Kelvin smiled slightly in response to Gareth's praise.

On the other side of the pitch, Loki, Finn, Riveria were looking seriously at the match of the two with serious expressions.
"He's quite ingenious." Finn frowned, his gaze looking serious as he watched the current match of the two of them.
"Yes, he naturally releases arrows into the air quickly, which Gareth may not notice or he may deliberately ignore. Then, it released another arrow at Gareth to disrupt his movements. On the other hand, with the help of gravity, that first arrow slid faster to the ground."
Riveria held her chin, letting out her thoughts as she continued to watch the battle of the two closely.
"But, how did he know where Gareth would move? Obviously, I'm not sure if it was just luck when that arrow clearly hit Gareth's arm."
Finn furrowed his brow in confusion. Kelvin's skill with weapons didn't seem to be what he had revealed earlier.
If he was at this level, then it was certain that Kelvin mastered every weapon well, not just 'a little'.
"Yes, it's as if he can predict Gareth's next move. It's as if he's making Gareth move at his will from the start." Riveria said after she thought hard.
"You mean, he's playing Gareth right now?" Finn looked at Riveria in disbelief.
"I don't know, but you remember when Gareth paused to slash the first arrow Kelvin released? If Gareth had just dodged that arrow, the second arrow could have fallen on his shoulder or head. But, because Gareth paused, the arrow only hit his arm and scratched it slightly."
Riveria said with uncertainty. After all, this was just her speculation, and she didn't know if Kelvin really did that on purpose.
"Hahaha! Anyway, that boy looks great! Good job Mama!"
Loki laughed as he ignored Finn and Riveria's chatter, and simply praised Riveria for bringing Kelvin into her Family.
With Kelvin in his Family, Loki somehow felt confident he could rival Freya someday. With just a little polishing, they would be able to rival Freya Familia and become the number one Familia in the next few years.
On the other hand, besides Loki, Finn and Riveria, there were a few other Loki Familia members who seemed to be interested when they saw Dewi and the two top executives standing in the corner.
Because of that, they decided to join in and saw Gareth, one of the top executives sparring with a teenager they did not recognize.
"Who is she, Riveria?"
"Oh, Ais. He's a new member, his name is Kelvin."
Riveria smiled at the blonde girl who walked up to her.
The girl, Ais, nodded at Riveria's explanation. Her gaze was fixed on Kelvin who was fighting while constantly changing his weapon in the middle of the battle.
Even so, Kelvin didn't feel any difficulty at all and could even keep up with Gareth with little effort.
This made Ais surprised, she didn't believe there was a new member who could rival the strength of Gareth, who was level 6. In fact, she wasn't sure she could beat Gareth even if it was just sparring.

Kelvin didn't know if there were many eyes watching him at the moment, even if he knew, he wouldn't care too much.
"Hahah, this is fun! Let's keep doing this until one of us passes out!"
Kelvin laughed loudly as he swung his sword wildly. Unlike his previous fighting style which was skillful and beautiful, Kelvin's fighting style now seemed wild and indiscriminate.

Kelvin threw the sword, leaving Gareth staring in disbelief. How could there be a fighter who threw their weapon?
Although Kelvin had two other weapons, but what he was doing right now was reckless!
Gareth tilted his body, dodging the sword that Kelvin threw just now, making it fly past his body just like that.
But, things weren't as simple as they seemed-
"Got you."
"Wh-What?!"
Gareth's eyes widened as he realized Kelvin had narrowed the distance between them, and his hand was currently holding the dagger with one hand, and making a vertical slash upwards!
Gareth was unable to react quickly, making him have to sacrifice his other hand to be hit by Kelvin's attack.
On his arm that wasn't covered by armor, there was a slash wound that wasn't too severe. But, of course it was an achievement, because Kelvin, who was a newcomer with level 1 could hurt Gareth who was level 6.
"Stop! That's it!"
Seeing Gareth injured, Finn immediately ended the match this time.
He still couldn't believe that Kelvin would beat Gareth in this Sparring, and he was really amazed by how Kelvin made good use of his weapons in the fight.
