บท 47: Chapter 44: Future Preparations
The room is filled with sweet fragrances, on your chest rest the heads of your future Wives. With no way of standing up unnoticed, you decide to wake them.
Gently you blow on their ears, the love-filled air stroking their gentle fur. Slowly you pat them, starting to shake gently. Some frown they let out, denial is assured. They're waking up slowly, this means a delicious breakfast, a necessity for your Stomach.
Stretching as far as their muscles can, they wag their tail at your sight. Happily drawing circles on your Chest. Silence fills the room as they stand up knowing what you want the most. Laughing, they dress up and head downstairs.
Looking at the clock, it is 7:34 AM. A fine time to wake up at.
As you dress up to head down, Katya walks up to you.
"Morning Dan, I'll have a surprise for you coming up! So be ready to choose~" Katya waves at you as she returns to her Laundry in the Livingroom, leaving you confused standing in the middle of the hallway.
Once downstairs, you enjoy the Coffee your Foxes prepared. A delicious brew of love and fluffy aroma.
Kally and her Daughters leave the Room, a reminder of the words you've told Tilu. Wondering of her Mother's choice, you drift into a loop of possibilities for post-retirement work.
The Foxes have made some buttered toasts. Everyone eats at least five, thankfully there is enough to go around.
"I'll be off to some work, will be back by afternoon." you wave everyone off as you head outside.
"Have a nice day!" Kate and Katie wave back.
Outside, the sun shines brightly. Gracing you with energy, you start walking at a walking pace. The only place you want to visit is the Town Hall. There the Council of 9 Women has their seat at discussing the next move.
Entering it reveals it's rather packed with people today. Most of them seem to be couples, looking at Marriage Ring prices. The same reason you're here. The Secretary of the Council welcomes you in.
"Good Morning Chief! How can I help today?" she asks.
"How much are a Marriage certificate and three rings?" you get straight to the point.
"Oh my~. That is a problem, you see the many couples around her asked me for the same thing. Thus I only have one certificate left, but you're not the only one wanting it." she explains the situation.
Problem spotted, the solution? Money.
"How much he give for it?" you ask, disregarding any manners.
"He offered 2 million roubles for the certificate and his rings." the woman answers.
"Let me guess, I need to pay triple the price?" you ask, angered.
"I'm sorry to say. But you are wrong, as you require three rings... the certificate price will drop drastically." she adds.
"Alright, spare me the deets. How much you want for the rings and certificate?" you ask, slowly losing your composure.
"That will be 2,68 million roubles. Special discount as well, for all your good deeds towards the Town." she finally puts her cards down.
Fitting price for these highly sought after Items.
"Alright, here the money. Where do I sign?" you lay down the money.
"Here and here. Please come by in a few hours again to check on the available rings!" the lady adds, waving you off.
"Thanks, see ya in a bit." you wave back.
That was a tight situation, a rather nerve-wracking one.
Time - 8:26 AM, not too bad. One last stop at the Clothes store and you've got everything you need.
The Clothes store was recently opened right beside the supermarket. This was necessary to save space and keep the most important items on the shelves. You enter the newly opened shop.
"Morning Chief, what are you looking for?" the woman at the entrance asks.
"Looking for two Fox wedding dresses... if that makes sense." you tell her.
"Certainly it does, have you gotten the certificate on you?" her question sends a chill down your spine.
Explain the situation to her, she regrets to say that she won't make an exception for you. Wedding dresses are scarce and especially Fox ones are at a gold-like price point.
"I understand. How about shoes?" you ask her.
"Those are included with the Dress-choosing. Please rest assured, the money spent on the certificate is not only for a piece of paper. But for the whole package. Also! Your suit will be included as well." she adds, soothing to know that you didn't pay for a piece of paper.
Leaving the shop, you head to the Car workshop. There, some young men hang out. Chatting about cars, none of them seems to be a trouble maker. Rather, the reserved types, that only act when absolutely needed. All fair and square.
"Opa! The Chief is here! Morning to you!" the Head Mechanic greets you, judging from his patch on his left arm.
"Morning, I need... an Upgrade. Armour Military-grade." you tell him.
"Sorry to disappoint Chief, but we're also waiting for the Russian to deliver the same things you need. They said this week, come by again on a later point." the Mechanic says.
"Alright, how about interior decorations?" you ask.
"At the entrance to the right. That all we got, please choose, all are at 30 thousand." he points.
You walk towards the entrance. Immediately you notice a cute and fluffy-looking blanket, without a second thought you take it together with a pair of Air-fresheners. With nothing else of interest, you pay and leave.
You head back home and leave the Car-related things in the Garage. You head inside and lay on the Couch for a few hours, reading the newspaper. A few minutes pass and the Foxes notice you reading. They come downstairs and lay down beside you, resting their heads on your lap.
"Welcome home Dan~" they greet you back, looking up at you.
"Thanks, how are you two feeling today?" you ask them, putting the newspaper away.
"We're fine, we do need to go shopping later on. This time without you." Kate says.
"Alright, I do have some work later on as well. So that is perfect timing." you add, stroking their Stomachs and patting their Heads.
Time flies by, the afternoon turned into the early evening. The Sun is slowly setting, you decide to head out. You wake the Foxes that have fallen asleep on your lap, they said they'll be back with food later, you hand them an additional 50 thousand roubles.
"You'll need that. Trust me." you tell them, heading out first. Hoping they won't follow where you're going.
Entering the Town Hall, it's almost completely empty, the Event board shows nothing of interest. Except that the Marriage certificates have run out, you've probably got one of the last.
"Greeting Chief, here are the Rings that are available in the number you need. As you might know, the Bride and Groom dresses are included." the lady says, displaying the available rings.
Presented in front of you are three types of rings. One dark blue, a dark-ish Orange and finally a Crimson Red combined with Gray.
"I'll take those." you point at the desired Rings.
"Very nice choice Chief, I shall prepare everything until Friday. Have a great week until then." the Lady says.
You leave the Town Hall and walk towards home, enjoying every bit of the Sunset. On the way, you link up with the Foxes that carry two bags filled with food and drink.
"Hi, Dan! How was your day?" the Foxes ask.
"Alright, yours?" you ask back.
"It was nice, but it's nicer now that we see you!" they say excitedly.
"Isn't that the Boyfriend's thing to say, when he sees his Girlfriends after a long day?" you tease.
They share a confused face with each other. Then look back at you.
"We don't think so~" they say together, smiling brightly.
Together you head home after dinner is done and has been eaten. Everyone heads to their Rooms, snuggling up together for another soothing Night's sleep.
