Chapter 277: Gone Baby, Gone
Ellis POV
Waking up with a start there was a pain in my cheek and an ache in my heart. Though I couldn’t quite remember why.
I unstuck my face from the keyboard, some imprints no doubt left behind. About seven pages of the letter “H” were left on the screen for me to find.
Out of sight out of mind, I deleted the whole lot of unwanted letters and printed off everything I had found to that point.
It still wasn’t quite enough, but I was getting closer all the time. The evidence needed to be iron-clad to really stick Stevens to a wall.
It wasn’t just about Livy anymore. I wanted to help her business, but if I could neutralize Stevens, it could be a boon for society at large.
The call of hunger getting too loud to ignore, I found my way to the door, a little bit of dizziness keeping me from going absolutely straight.
Gripping the knob like my life depended on it, I tried the door. It held firm, locked from the outside.
