บท 233: Lucrative Sidequest

Xiao Min caught me trying not to snigger. "This isn't a Saturday morning cartoon, guys," said Jue Zhu, "from my experience so far, most people hesitate to act like they need a beating or something right in front of me. And even when I can find out someone is a murdering bastard, it hardly takes all of us to handle. You can't seriously think I'm really some kind of...chosen one?" 

"Oh yes I can," said Bing Hei, "plenty of those cartoons and shows have weeks or even months pass before the next adventure of the week. But at the very least, we are looking for trouble. Fate, or the Heavens, or both, none of us can deny they're a very real force on things. I can't possibly imagine they'll let us stay idle for long." 

"I get the hint," I said, "I won't complain if our next idle period lasts way longer than just one day."
