Moments later, Eris is standing a ways away from Alexander in a large stadium. In the stadium seats are multiple vampire nobles as well as the ones that Eris brought with her. The field they're standing on is completely made of dirt while the seats and walls of the building are made of dark grey bricks.
Eris is dressed in her battle mode armor while Alexander is wearing his own armor. The vampire king's full plate armor is dark blue in color and extends to all parts of his body, including his wings. His helmet has two, devilish horns on its sides and his shoulder plates have viscous spikes on them. He carries two viscous-looking sickles in his hands that look as though they're made of bone.
When Eris summons Nightmare, Hadrian steps forward, "Are both of the participants ready?!" they both nod, "Then let the duel that decides the ruler of Rimore begin!!"
Alexander instantly gets to work and summons his spirit. After a bright light, a large beast emerges from the magic circle behind the vampire king. The monster looks similar to a gigantic bat with blood-colored fur and membranous wings. It has large ears the size of an average person, a wolf-like head, and a mouth full of razor sharp teeth. It's eyes are pure black, making the person looking into them feel as though they're looking into the night itself.
"A spirit blood bat, and a high level one too. Serena wasn't wrong, you're quite powerful," Eris says with a smile.
After summoning it, Alexander unites with it, and after the bright green light fades, Eris looks upon her fused foe. Alexander now has two pairs of membranous wings on his back, with a larger pair over the smaller pair. His armor changes from blue to purple and gains a number of bat-like engravings on it. His helmet retains its horns, but changes its shape to look like the head of a Flying Fox. His scythes also grow in size and look even more terrifying than before.
Eris mummers to herself, "This guy's a lot stronger than Serena and he's also stronger than that Scorpion knight from the theocracy. But even so, I should be able to take him down."
At that point, Alexander attacks Eris, leaving a spider web-like crack in the ground from where he launched. The vampire king brings his scythes down on Eris. She deflects the weapons with Nightmare, spins around, and sends her armored foot straight into Alexander's side. He's sent flying back, but manages to recover mid-air, and flies into the sky. After that, he surrounds himself in a purple-colored aura, enhancing his strength, speed, defenses, and magic abilities by a large amount. He once again accelerates towards Eris, catching her off guard with his immense speed. Eris can only bring up her sword and block Alexander's attack. The vampire goddess pushes herself away from Alexander's weapons, but he gives her no time to relax. He unleashes a barrage of close-range swipes with his sickles. Eris manages to block and deflect the vampire king's attacks, but she's frustrated because he's not giving her a chance or opening to strike back. Finally, Eris's body becomes engulfed in a crimson, flame-like aura, and with her new speed, she sends her blade into Alexander's weapons, sending him back, almost to the edge of the stadium. Eris is enraged. Her pupils once again morph to become narrow, like a cat's. Alexander sees the vampire goddess' angered expression and instantly feels a wave of fear permeate his body.
Serena notices Eris' expression from the stands and instantly her face turns to one of concern, "Oh no. Don't tell me that she's in her berserker state right now!"
Lucina looks at the small vampire, "Berserker state?"
"It happens to vampires who are either enraged or who haven't been drinking enough blood. Their senses become much sharper, and their strength and speed also increase. But the unfortunate trade-off is that their lust for blood is also amplified and if left unchecked, they'll lose their sense of reason and become no better than a monster," explains Serena.
"I remember. It happened when she was interrogating that theocracy priest," says Hadrian.
"It also happened when she was battling that creature that the theocracy army summoned as well. She nearly drank every ounce of blood in my body," says Chrono.
"It seems as though she's still in control of herself right now, though," says Rose with a confused expression.
"Perhaps, because she's the progenitor, it takes longer to affect her," says Taila.
"Maybe. But I would've thought that because she is the progenitor, that she would be able to suppress it," says Serena.
"Keep in mind that she's been asleep for the past ten thousand years. She's probably still not completely used to her vampiric body just yet," says Hadrian, not knowing that the real reason was because Eris has never been a vampire until a little over a month ago.
Eris can hear the conversation between her allies in the stands, and knows that she needs to control her anger. She takes in multiple deep breaths before her pupils finally go back to normal and her senses do the same. However, the same bloodthirsty aura still surrounds her. Thankfully, she manages to direct it at her opponent, only striking fear into Alexander.
Eris finally decides to go all out. Her body seems to flicker out of the vampire king's sight and then reappears right behind him. Before he even has a chance to turn and look at her, Eris sends a crimson fireball straight into Alexander's back. The ball explodes, shattering some of his armor, and sending him flying across the field. Eris' body flickers once more, this time appearing right beside the vampire king as he's still suspended in midair. She then sends her armored leg straight into his stomach, breaking more of his armor, and launching him into the air. Her body flickers away one more time and reappears right above Alexander as his body is still traveling upwards. A ball of black energy appears in her left hand while her sword begins to spark with red lightning. The crimson electricity then travels from the sword and to the black orb. As the vampire king's body gets within feet of her, Eris fires the black orb surrounded by red electricity at him. The magic attack impacts Alexander's body and explodes with a massive amount of force that sends a shockwave through the entire arena. The vampire king's body falls to the ground, kicking up the dirt of the field as he lands. Eris travels down and lands beside his body. Most of Alexander's armor is destroyed, and his body has several bruises and burn marks on it. There's a trickle of blood coming from the left corner of his mouth, his forehead, and his back.
Eris glares coldly at him as she puts the tip of her sword at his throat, "That's checkmate."
Alexander coughs up a bit more blood and answers, "Indeed. I was completely outmatched. You are the progenitor. It was a pleasure battling with you, your highness. I concede."
"The winner, and the new queen of the kingdom of Rimore is her majesty, Eris Vermillion!!" exclaims Hadrian.
Eris breathes a sigh of relief and is happy as she hears the cheers and claps of the crowd. However, she frowns as she sees Arden leaving the arena seats with a scowl on his face. She begins to wonder what kind of disgusting little trick that little bug will pull.
"I'll have to keep an eye on him," Eris murmurs to herself.
Meanwhile, Arden is making his way through the halls of the arena, "This is horrible. This low-born wench dares to threaten me. And with that strength of hers, she's going to be hard to get rid of. I won't let her destroy everything I've built. I'll kill her, I'll take the throne, and I'll be the one to wipe out the rest of those disgusting humans and save our race. After that, I'll enslave every other inhuman and my race will have an endless supply of blood banks. Hahahahaha!"
Hey guys, Author here! This is the part of my story that I’m having trouble getting past. I’m not sure what the MC should do after. Should she be a hunter in the human kingdom? Should this story involve love? Love with a different species? Male or female love interest? Should MC have a harem? I need you opinions because I’m stuck and I don’t know what to do. Please give me your thoughts at the end of this chapter. Thank you for reading!
