บท 175: Something wrong

Hearing his voice, the woman who just woke up from slumber turned her head to follow the source of the voice who called her name. 

Xiu Mei stared at Lu Chen for a full minute with an empty gaze. Before Lu Chen could even celebrate that she had finally awakened, he finally noticed something wrong.

When she did not respond to him at all, Lu Chen felt a sense of foreboding. He suddenly grew nervous as he slowly approached her figure, to see whether she would suddenly lash out or just stay calm when someone would try to go near her. 

"Wife?" He repeated. But Xiu Mei just followed his movements until he stopped next to her. She slightly raised her head to meet his gaze while Lu Chen never looked away from hers. 

Seeing her eyes look so empty at a close distance, Lu Chen felt heavy.
