         I was beyond stunned and that wasn't an exaggeration in any way. I stared at the door long after it slammed close, but I felt frozen in place and unable to move an inch.

I might have believed that I had imagined the whole thing up but I knew I hadn't because I had stopped thinking about the omega for a long time. After searching and searching to no avail, I ended up giving up and concluding that he had ended up dead. However, right now, with the way his vanilla scent was still clinging to the air in the atmosphere, long after he had left, I knew that I hadn't imagined anything. He had really been here.

I scrubbed my hand over my face and took the seat beside my grandmother's bed again, and as my eyes fell on her peaceful face, a bitter chuckle bubbled out of my throat. I didn't realize the omega my grandmother had always told me about was the same one I had searched for over and over again.
