บท 722: XIU's Trial

Chen Lian's case was resolved quite simply. 

Upon learning Chief Yan's decision, she fell into a long silence. It did not take long for her to confess everything she had done, with one condition – her identity must be kept a secret from her family. Sometimes, it was best to remain ignorant. There was no need for them to find out about what she had been up to and added on to the unnecessary burden. It was enough to believe that their eldest had thrived abroad and lived a contented life. 

This was the consequences she had been prepared for since she embarked on this bloody path. 

She couldn't retain her job as a police officer, but at the same time she faced no charges, as Chief Yan relinquished his position to shoulder the responsibility for her.
